You checked the scart cable to make sure its the right way round? This is a common problem when connecting them up. I've done it a few times. Cheers.

Try pushing your scart leads back in fully, or change a lead over. HTH

check the scart lead conection

Switch it off at the mains then back on again, it may reset itself.

Just tried doing that and it's not worked!!

Don't tell sky they will think you're getting an extra channel and will try and charge you.

Change the scart lead. Make sure you switch off sky first though and anyways would be a good idea to actually take out plug from wall for a minute or 2

Musta pushed pretty damn hard to get it in the wrong way!

Does busting the connection count? lol...:)

Switch it off at the mains plug, leave it for 2 minutes, then try it again,

As others have suggested, try pushing the scart lead/s in tighter.

If the subtitles and sound work okay, I take it the SkyGuide and Services features display perfectly too? If so, your cable is fine, and it's your box or your dish that's at fault. Try accessing the System Thingie (I'm in bed, I can't check) on the Services menu to see what the signal strenth and quality is. It might be 0 for both, which;d mean your dish has maybe been blown off-course by the recent high winds, or there may be some other problem that's stopping your box getting a usably strong signal. If that's teh case, a call to Sky's tech support is your best bet.

If it was a " signal " problem, it would show up as an on screen display ( yellow on blue ), it would not have a plain blue screen.

what kind of sky box do you have? could be it needs a full reset.. if you have sky+ box you'll lose all your recordings if it's an old sky box it will do know harm.. let us know what box you have and we'll tell you how to do a full reset.

Sorry only just got on pc,thanks for all your suggestions. I have a new sky+ box, I've only had it since August, the guide etc is working and the subtitles, just the actual picture is blue. I've turned it off but it's not done anything. I'm gutted if I have to re-set it as I've got loads of things taped lol. Also, I checked the signal strength on the services and it says it's ok and it's nearly full signal, not sure if it's supposed to be 100% or summat??

You could try doing a software upgrade, it won't do any harm and it wont effect your recordings.

unplug the box for 5 minutes

power back on while pressing the "back up" button (on the sky box, not on the remote) you will then get on screen prompts

If that doesn't fix it and as a last resort as this will wipe your hard disk - the hard reset

Remove the mains power from the Sky+ box by either turning it off at the plug or unplugging it altogether.
Hold down the left and right arrow buttons on the front of the box (the ones with the Select button between them) and turn the mains power back on without letting go of the buttons.
After a while, the green circle and play lights will come on, at which point let go of the arrow keys and press the select button.
The green circle will now seem to rotate several times as the Sky+ hard drive is formatted.
Once it is done, the green play light will illuminate (or, if there is a hard drive failure of some sort, the red record light apparently lights) and then your box will shut down for a short while before becoming operational again.

good luck
