Need opinion on a laptop.

Hey guys, for the next year at Sixth Form, i need to get a laptop for my 'supervised study', where essentially i will be sitting in a room for 2 hours with a man watching me do stuff. I decided to keep myself entertained, i would just take in a laptop to do some work/go on the internet.

I have a budget of around £200, just wondered if anyone could reccomend me a good laptop.

Not looking for anything for gaming or anything, just needs:

- To look nice
- To have a decent memory
- To have a great battery life
- To be able to run word (that should be pretty easy).
- To have USB slots, and a DVD drive.

I've looked at the Dell Vostro's, though im not 100% on them.

I'd seriously consider rephrasing the first part of that right up to where you say you have a budget. of £200 because I read it as meaning something totally different to what you probably mean, and if I did that imagine how some of the men reading it would take it

The Dell Vostro range is great for students, as they meet all your requirements.

What aren't you sure about them?

Yeah i kinda regret writing it that way :P i thought 'watching me do stuff' would be simpler than saying 'watching me pretend to study whilst secretly listening to music and sleeping'.

And the Advent actualyl looks okay, might give that a look! Whats the battery life like? And does it come in colours?

The Vostro looks okay, just - doesn't seem to have a lot of memory, but i do like the smallness of the 1310.

It's £20 to upgrade to 2GB RAM, which I think is worth it, often they do short life voucher codes as well, which can save you money
