EDIT: Well I have and now I'm regretting it - lol - need to make a £5 bet to get my Quidco, but the problem is that it could expose me to a much bigger loss than I thought. I need some suggestions for a £5 spread bet...

Thanks guys - yep, I've done a couple of the traditional bookies but it's this spread betting I don't understand. With my £20 stake I've got to at least a £5 bet. Thing is you can lose more than the £5 stake but I want to make sure I lay a £5 that will not lose me more than £30 - my quidco amount. Yikes, think I've bitten off more than I can chew with this one. The money is deposited by I'm too afraid to lay the bet until I know what my exposure is. Would be a nightmare if I ended up with a £1000 loss! :w00t:

p.s. I have State of Play on one of my bets too

Gawd damn - just did a couple of their examples on the site for a £5 bet and I could have won about £65 and lost about £70 depending on which of the two options (high or low) I'd taken. What have I done!! How the hell to minimise my risk with a £5 bet??

I deposited £20 into an account with them but have no idea how the betting system works.

It seems a bit confusing to me.

I just talked to them on the phone and a £5 bet is pretty much exposing you to between a £60 and £150 loss based on the four examples I gave him. :w00t:

Think we need to hang tight till someone a little smarter than either of us comes along and makes a suggestion. I'm now considering forgetting the cashback and betting in small amounts in an attempt to at least win my stake deposit back/

It seems that if you bet any amount you need to have enough in your account to be taken from you if it loses. Not my kind of betting at all and cant be bothered to read up on how to do it either.

If i get given a step by step guide on what bet to put on then i shall do it. Cheers. If i hear anything i will PM you. Would you do the same for me also?

Will do  If that's the case about funds in the account, then I wonder does that mean the £5 wager is a total wager - i.e. when you have bet a total of £5, even if over multiple bets? Hopefully someone will enlighten us.... (another fine mess I've got myself into!)

stevey, just to say I've laid a £5 bet that will get us the quidco and minimise risk. It's this:

EVENT Man Utd v Aston Villa

MARKET Total Goals

YOUR PREDICTION Higher > 2.8

STAKE £5.00

MAX WIN £25.00

MAX RISK £14.00

:-D

Gutted, i didnt put this bet on but i hope you come up with another one i can try out. I still have no clue how this wierd system works.

Dont even want to talk about the atrocious game of football. Well done on winning that bet.

Look forward to you finding another one :)

Pity you didn't, but yes, will PM you the next one that comes along which looks pretty good for £5 and will not lose more than the £20.

I've done quite well on these free bets thing. I had £12.50 e/w on the 4th horse yesterday with Betfair so got about £30 profit on that.

My Boylesport £10 deposit wasn't added in time for the race so I phoned them and they added the £20 free bets anyway (it was their system which screwed up). My balance with them now is £17.50 + £11 left in the free balance. (I made two bets from free balance - Button to win the GP and Villa to win today)

This spread betting company should now pay me £30 quidco and my balance with them is currently at £29.78 from the initial £20 stake.

So roughly, I am nearly £60 in profit before Quidco, £90 if/when it pays. :-D:-D:-D

stevey_p7, just to say that my Quidco finally tracked on this today - £30.

Did you find a bet yet to stake the £5?
