I've got my sony a200 dslr and am now looking for a compact flash card for it. I've checked mymemory.co.uk and there are massive price differences between the same capacity card.

What is the difference and which one would be suitable for this camera?

Thanks for your help

I guess it is the transfer speed that makes up the difference in price.

They should all work, it's all about speed.
If you are shooting single images, sights, architecture etc then go for capacity.
If you shoot sports, birds or anything where you want to take a lot of shots in very quick (ie burst speed etc) then go for something faster.
I can highly recommend SanDisk cards (I use them for my Nikon D300) and the Extreme III and IV are both very fast.

Cheers, what size card would you reccommend? Will be using it at home and holiday only - I'm not a professional!

Sorry for all the questions. How many photos will the 4gb hold on max resolution?

Go for a couple of sandisk Extreme III 2GB. Cards.

4GB are nice but Unless your shooting in RAW with a 12MP+ camera you may find them a bit big, and thus putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak. What happens if that card fails or you lose it whilst out and about?

I always use 2GB cards for cameras under 12MP and 4Gb cards for Over 12MP
