Need some advice on this purchase i made....

I bought an Xbox 360 mini media remote from the other day for £6.99, paid them via paypal. Received the item and the media center button was just plain white and missing the media center icon so i straight away wasnt happy with it so i contacted them and arranged to return it. Also i noticed it was the same 'chinese' copies that are being sold on ebay. So I sent the item back recorded delivery yesterday and they've just refunded me £5.00 to my paypal, and its showing in my paypal as a 'partial refund' I emailed them asking why its only a partial refund and when i can expect the remainder and they replied saying and quote ' As the item was returned un-wanted and not faulty or damaged we refund less a postage fee to cover our postage costs to you and the fee we have been charged to receive your payment and administer your order.'

Just been on their site and they dont seem to have the remote listed anymore. Im 100% certain that i selected a FREE postal service. Are they allowed to just give me a partial refund when they havent as such charged me anything for postage? I know its only £1.99, but its the principle of the matter which bugs me... Can anyone tell me if they are right to just give me a partial refund or would i be entitled to received the full amount back?
