Need some help

Our office discipline is at total disaray, with some people leaving and the ones who are staying on behaving abnoxious (I am not one of the managers so should not really bother me) as they know if they leave the company would be shaken to its core (which is sad as the very same company did not fire a single person when she was going through one of the worst phases financially and when companies belonging to the same industry had halved their staff)

Any suggestions on how things can be put back in order

Not alot you can do. Maybe point out the loyalty they should have if the boss has shown them the same?

Hope it improves for you. Awful going into work when you know there is an atmosphere

Deffo go and speak to your bosses and point out who is acting up.
Point out a few of the downfalls of the business.
Same happened to me a few years back.
I did the above and warned them I would leave if things did not improve...they did not
2 years down the line, I am in a new job, much happier.
My old company has lost all its best people and is struggling......
They were warned!!!

Still wish I did not have to work, but hey dont we all!

Honestly, I wanted to leave cause it is aweful at times, but our bosses have gone an extra mile to make sure they dont have to fire anyone when the times were tough and I know they are depending on me to put things right

Don't worry about work, things have a habit of ironing themselves out.

Gotta take it to the top in my opinion.

Get your thoughts down on paper and send them or ideally speak with someone at the top.

The important thing is that you are NOT kicking up a fuss to make your life easier BUT to make the business better.
This is the kind of staff ANY company should be after.

Unfortunately if they don't listen then you may be forced to go to a company that appreciates consciousness workers.

Also moaning to your partner helps ;)

Good luck with it all and don't let people who slack get you down !

The bosses did, I have never enjoyed working under anyone as much as I have done under the two directors I have now

And yes it is awful at times

We had a huge retention issue three years back, and one of my senior managers was able to pull us out and make the company 3 x bigger honestly no jokes, now he is planning to go ofshores and he has recommended the bosses to put things under my command and hence a lot of hopes attached to what I do next

I wouldnt stick me head above the parapet . Basically as long as your doing ok (your in india arent you) in your job , dont give them a second thought , the thing is you can get yourself chewed up by taking all that negativity on board ... I personally would look for another job if you cant change the situation

Accept the things you cant change
change the things you cant accept

have the wisdom to know the difference:thumbsup:

I thought you were 13 for some reason??

I take it you were not at work any of the 881 posts you've made in a month, or you too would need disciplined :-D

being a leader myself im aware of this sort of thing, your bosses should be doing something about it ie speaking to each person individually, finding out why they are behaving the way they are and start dishing out disaplineries (spelt wrong i know).

Your bosses should be aware that an employee can cause a lot more damage to the company by being there than sacking them. noone in indespencable no matter what anyone says. if they dont do something about it then the company will go down the pan and it will be down the managers not the staff.

as for yourself, if your not comfortable in their and the managers do nothing then you have no alternative ut to find somewhere else.

well it sounds like you're a good enough example as it is! The managers should really be doing something about it - or a management 'shake up' would help. introduce a firm but fair approach and give those not pulling their weight a kick up the a**
