Need some help for 2 car seats for use in taxis.

I don't drive but when in a taxi I haven't been using a car seat for my one child, but have been using one for my daughter who's now 18 months.
My son is 5 and is approx 20kg and my daughter's 18 months so she'd need a group 1.

Do any of you know of any light or fold-away car seats that we can take with us? We usually use taxis for a trip to a restaurant or to the cinema.

Many thanks.

For your oldest look for a trunki boosta pack, invaluable. I bought one to take on holiday as car seat hire was £80 for the week and I know from previous experience the seats you hire arnt up to much. This was ideal. They were £21.99 on amazon but you can get them in waitrose and John Lewis. X

Hiya,
That's brilliant thank you. I'll be ordering one of those, never seen them before!! Just got to try and find one for my daughter now. She's just out-grown her carry car seat :(

Ive seen taxi drivers get the booster seats out off the boot before. They would be suitable for the older child. You could check to see if the firm has drivers that use them. That would save you a few quid.

Just had a look on the google shopping thing, they're showing as £21.65 when on there but you click through to amazon and they're £32.74 :O I'm going to take a screen shot and see if Amazon will honour the price :D

I've checked with our local firm and they don't take them. They're the best drivers in our area, I refuse to use any other company but they don't have car seats. Think I may speak to them and see if they'll add car seats, it may increase their business for them.

i dont see why you have to get booster eats our local taxi services have them just ask and at the same time ask why they have not got them as they charge enough for their hires.

I know it's not a legal requirement but if there was ever an accident and my children were hurt or even worse, I'd be beside myself to say the least. I'd rather spend stupid amounts of money to ensure they're safe than risk not having them.
