I generally find these guys very cheap for last minute flights, they have returns to Sydney for 591 with Singapore Airlines at the moment which is a top airline:

Try air asia, you have to book from London to Kuala Lumpar and then from KL to sydney, was a deal on here last week, all you paid for was luggage and food and taxes, were some really good deals to be had,

My auntie, uncle and cousins left for Australia in the early 80's.

Owed people money apparently. Took my auntie till 2005 to visit her mother/ family back here in England, she even missed her fathers death in the mid 80's.

Doubt we'll see her again.

Just a little story for you.
