Hi Guys (and Gals),
I was just looking for some advice on a barebones PC Build.
I had an old Santa Rosa (965 Chipset Core 2 Duo) laptop whose GFX card (the notorious NVIDIA 8600) decided to overheat and fry. I can boot the laptop but I get lots of Graphics corruption and its practically unusable.
This leaves me with a few components to use up. I have:
-Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 Mobile Processor @ 2.2 GHz/800 MHZ FSB
-2 GB of DDR2 Laptop RAM
-250 GB/SATA 2.5 Western Digital HDD
-Intel 3945 Mini Wireless Card (802.11 b/g)
All of these components are in perfect working order and I was wondering if its possible to find a barebones system that will take most of this? I have had a look for some and all I can find is systems which take older desktop processors, not mobile ones.
I dont mind building a system up so if you know of Motherboards etc that would take this, I would be willing to throw everything together.
On the GFX side, I'm not too fussy and therefore if the barebones comes with an integrated GFX like GMA X3100 (the norm for the 965 Platform), then I'm fine. This build is only going to be used for some light browsing and so on but a X16 PCI-Express would be a bonus (dont know if this is possible tho).
As a last resort, I would consider a barebones laptop but I'm not sure where to find one of those.
