If you;re suggesting that someone works from home earning a decent wage and doing decent hours then there are very few options.

the reality is that if the Mrs wants to make decent money working decent hours then the job she does will be far from decent. Not being funny but being very realistic here. If there were honest jobs like that then many people would be doing that instead of travelling to work everyday.

The only type of honest jobs that earn good money working good hours are contracting jobs in IT where you can do everything from your home but even those are few and far between.

Other than that then that job market will be full of low paid, long hours and manual labour. For example, a friend of mines does manual work for a packaging company. She gets sent big boxes of various goods and she has to remove them from the packaging that they are in and put them into new packaging and she doesn't get paid by the hour. its per item and its pennies at that. she has to work literally all day to make around £30-50. sometimes the tasks are easy like putting greeting cards into the plastic covers n stuff but others are like little dress jewellery items that are quite awkward to handle and package without breaking. and yes she has to pay for breakages as well.

Just had a look at that because if I don't get a temp job I'm going for, this sounds pretty good. It says about having to form your own company, is this hard to do initially and to maintain? In terms of the accounts, would an accountant need to be sourced each year?

Its simple to create a company, for accountant you can get a hell lot of people on web, there are some genuine one's who does it for 100£ or less for a month. They are very good for that money as they handle all of your company account activities.

Leo nice links, that fiverr.com is the best website I have seen in a while, I will be a customer rather than a provider though :) plenty of skilled people I can use for my own business/webite for very little money

arise looks good ... thanks will check it out.

Being self employed thought with arise how does that work?

Are there any tax benefits? Like IDK heating costs paid ... recoup VAT?
