Neighbour problems

I live in quite a carp area and my neighbour's are not so good.

I spent 2 hour's in the cop shop last sunday because the nice 16 year old at the back of us, has said that I common assaulted him.

I only blocked the entrance to the alleyway at the side of my house because it belongs to my next door neighbour not him.

We've had egg's thrown at the back and side of our house six time's in the last year.

We've had them thrown twice in the last two week's, I think it is this silly cow who lives a few door's away, she has got 4 kid's under the age of five, it's says it all.

Her and her partner don't work but have two week holiday's in spain, conservatory and a scooter.

Also toy's galore and a lovely trampoline to shout abuse at us from.

On Saturday we returned from the shop's about teatime and we went into the garden to plant some plant's that I just bought.

The abuse started from the trampoline, their kid's and their lovely nephew and niece shouted gay boy very loud for about 10 mins at my fella.

I told them to be quiet, then my fella went to the shop and told the neighbour's sister to keep the kid's quiet.

Then the silly cow came into the front garden, by this time I was watering my plants at the front and she shouted to me "are you telling my kid's to shut up" I ignored her and carried on watering my plants.

Then when my fella was returning from the shops, she started having a go at him and saying that she was gonna have him done over, nice!

Anyway that was that, we went to a barbeque yesterday with my friend's son who lives across the road because the silly cow's kid's were annoying him.

He didn't want to stay at the barbeque for long, so my fella had to bring him home, when he got home about an hour after we left we had more egg's thrown at the house.

I'm sure it is her because she saw us going out, I really hate the stupid b***h, what would you do?

Buy a petrol chainsaw and a hockey mask, it might scare them into silence.

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do apart from try to ignore them as much as you can, and start looking for a new house

I would move if I could but then there is the issue why should you be the 1 to move.

These problems are too common, the housing associations and council send out letters and they just ignore them.

We get a lot of cheek off teenagers round here at times, particularly my partner.

Just goes to show, they both don't work, and they got nowt else to do all day but hurl abuse, when people don't work they tend to fall out with people,or cos they got nothing better to do make it diffiucult for other people.
#3
Or you could report them to local council/police, but you would have to keep a diary of everything that happens and possibly even try to capture 'dodgy' behaviour on camera.

I do keep a diary but I feel like I'm wasting my life on it.

I'm thinking of getting a camera even a dummy one might help.

A turd in a paper bag, alight on their doorstep, and ring their bell and run !!

Oh what fun as a 7 yr old this was :whistling:

wow - you have got problems, have you condiered moving, I live in a quiet cul de sac mostly retired people and it is heaven, but in saying that when we first moved in we were the young newbees and were treated so badly I wanted an extension on my house and foutght for 2 yrs, went to see the letters that my neighbours had written and they told so many lies, like we had six cars - I wish, we intended letting - whever you are there are going to be people that annoy and upset you. The people in question in my case are now (after my extension is built and the whole street now needs updating) startin to update their propeties and they are all so very very nice to me after putting me and my family through hell and costing us so much money.

I presume as they don't work then they probably rent their house form council or like, the trouble is if the council kicks them out, they always rehome them elsewhere, then they become someone elses problem, the council need to stop rehousing these people.
It happens too often, know many incidents in particular round my Mums rd.The council even rehome people who set alight to their own homes, not once but 3 times, just cos they living where they not like and they drugged up and don't wnat any help anyway.
Until it stops, then these problems are just going carry on,the same families just cause bother for others.

People who buy their homes are probably more inclined to behave well and not cause any bother to anyone else cos they don't want their hard work to go to waste or bother anyone that it turns on them and they get home vandalised.

I know this may sound silly, but my friend had the same problem with kids always throwing eggs, bricks even. So he went and got a nice big staff to 'mind' the back garden and they've never come back since

i totally sympathise with your situation...we lived in a carp area too...ith a three year old..we had our car scrathed and used condoms posted through the letter box (yuck) the police were less than interested and so were the council.....it all came to a head when i opened my front door and found a used hypodermic needle....We were I suppose lucky I handed my house back to the landlord (one months notice) and put myself and my husband in ALOT of debt to buy a house (much smaller than what we had)
Best decision I ever mad though...we have lovely neighbous now and I can leave the house without being afraid.....
i dont know what you can do really....have you contacted the council..that woud be my first port of call....
you have my sympathy...I know how terrible it can be....:friends:

Sorry to hear about your terrible situation and I am glad that it has worked out for you.

do we need to rally the HUKD boys again to sort them out?

I would love to do this but I am allergic to animals.

I am thinking of having a big barbeque in a few weeks for my fellas birthday.

I'm going to invite as many handy males as I can, so that they get the message, that we have back up if required.

Sometimes moving is the only solution, its not about them winning its about you taking your life back and winning that way, its really horrible to have problems with your neighbours but the relief when you eventually get away and realise that you are free is immense.

Good luck I hope you manage to sort it one way or another.

get some cctv up..get them on film

Thank you, I think that may be my only option.

It is advertised on the internet at the moment but I might have to go to an estate agent.

I don't really want a sign outside because then they will think that they have won.

Do you have it, if so which one do you recommend?

Also the thing is with anything like this,is these problems just start up for no reason, and you there thinking why they start on us in 1st place.
I'm not involved with the neighbours round here cos I didn't know the town I live in at all really apart from I heard most areas are quite bad,so to be fair this area is not as bad as what we could moved into,so I was careful when I moved in not to get involved.
I basically will say hello to 1 neighbour on 1 side of me,will take in parcels for other ppl as they do for me and thats about it.
It's mainly teenagers round here that give cheek, and some might not even live down this end of the rd,so go play up your own end if you can't play in peace elsewhere.

I'd feel the same, why should they push you out your own home and I expect it is a diffucult time for home owners to move, but if you ever going be totally happy again, the only option is to move.
#20
They should have one estate where they move everyone who causes trouble and let them fight like animals among themselves and if they burn their home down let them lie on the streets. Why oh why oh why do scum get treated with kid gloves? And why oh why do they seem to have so much money compared to the rest of the decent hard working people?

I really sympathise with you

Thank you, I agree totally the police and government are far too soft.

Is it just the one family/house that are a problem or are there several?

The ones at the back have gone quiet, since I went to the police last weekend.

It seems to be the woman who live's a few doors away at the moment.

Move if its an option people like that cannot be reasoned with and won't change their nighmare ways.
I would hate this situation in my life and really feel for you.
If they say you assaulted them imagine what else they may say you have done, what a gang of ..........
Or pray they move - soon!

Thanks nikkib, I can't believe he said that, I am the least violent person, I know.

They seem to prey on people like me because they think that I am weak because I don't smash their windows etc...

I was lucky and could afford to move but I guess thats not everyones option.

It was the worst time of my life and it has made me very stressed at the slightest thing now.

Do you know anyone who could do some 'work' for you? it maybe your only option.

Contact the council, you never know if they sent out a letter it might scare them off.

Thanks, sorry to hear that you have been through something similar, what is wrong with people.

I have to say I am having similar problems. Except that it is not personal and affects everyone living here. I told the housing on Thurday that I would be contacting my bank and telling them to stop the rent direct debit. I bet them that they kicked me out before they kicked out the jinkie waste of skin that lives over the road. Early hours Thursday morning her son came round a battered the living poo out of her boyfriends car.
Apparently because she is under the mental health act she has more rights than we have. So mental note, become a raving heroin addict and then you can stay in your house despite having your children taken off of you. Screaming in the street, being raided, and having intercourse in broad daylight.
I say slash the trampoline in the middle of the night. Eventually if there are enough complaints the council will have to do something.
The trouble is they make it too easy to sponge off the state there is no incentive to go to work anymore.

Get a camera that records audio and images...

I recently had a football come into our garden while my son and wife were doing the garden...

I went out and kicked it over the hedge into the direction it came...

A couple of seconds later, there was a huge bang and i thought i had hit a parked car...

A couple of teen chav yobs(and about 10 other younger kids) came down f ing and blinding about how i had burst this ball. Another kid then said it had burst in the air...

Anyway, many threats were made and these 2 were drinking and harrassing me on my drive...

I was recording from a door camera...

I called the police who finally arrived to view and listern to the recording...

Both were arrested and taken away to sweat it out until sober enough to be questioned...

Both were issued with £80 fines...

Word of what happened has spread and we have no trouble now...

Keep your cool and never swear or rise up to them...

Sorry to hear this, they bully the life out of good people.

Hope it work's out for you.

Standing your ground or standing up to them is not always safe, you need to be very careful, I was assaulted by an abusive neighbour ten years ago, for simply refusing to be intimidated, I was not aggressive or in any way provoking but he had a history of intimidating the tenants of the house we were living in, due to a vendetta he had against the owner, looking back its likely the reason the owner moved out in the first place but we were unaware of the history when we moved in.

If you intend to stay and work it all out then you will need really good CCTV, and possibly help from other neighbours, is there anyone else having similar problems? They may be willing to stand with you, and you may find many are also suffering, there is safety in numbers so if you all stand together it usually helps, simply the support of having others in similar situations will be beneficial.

Thanks, I will consider all my options later because I need to tidy my house!

Do any of your neighbours get the same treatment/feel the same about the people causing the trouble? If so it might be worth contacting any of them and seeing if they will go to the council/police as well. If you can do this, a big group of the community taking action can be more effective (with the police/council's help) than anything else - tis called social capital.

If not, you just need to write a diary of what's happening, like other people have said, and if you can then catch some of the stuff on video. If not, you need to see if there are other people around that have been witnessing it that are willing to help you. Report criminal damage/abuse etc to the police, they are criminal acts and there are sanctions available. Also report it to the council. You need to persevere.

What these people are doing could amount to anti-social behaviour. How long has it been going on for?
#36
I really feel for your situation DLM, your home is your castle and if you can't feel safe and happy there then where can you?

The only problem with the option of selling up and moving is that now they have the Home Information Packs I think there is a question about nuisance neighbours in there. I'm not 100% certain but I'm sure there'll be someone that knows!
#37
beat the she hite out of them
#38
I know its tough, but it doesn't last forever. If you don't let them see it getting to you they will start on someone else. It happened to me and I couldn't move, she even bought other relatives and kids round to abuse me, spit at me in the street, stop the car and abuse me when people could hear. I tried everything, the police didn't do much at first but after a few calls and many tears from me they warned her an asbo would be next. she moved on to another victim...........then one day she was killed in a terrible accident.............. I know its wicked but someone loves me!!!!!!!
#39
You have my total sympathy - what a nightmare, it's so wrong how one person / family can cause so much misery and upset. :x

CCTV may be a good option as others have suggested.

Hope things improve for you soon.
#40
are they only bothering you or other house holds aswell? if so, couldn't u get every1 they are bothering to go to the council or get a silent petition going round to get them moved out?
