im getting very angry..i would really like to put my daughter to bed but the young mum upstairs whose son goes to bed at what ever time..sometimes they are still running around at 11, thinks its respectful to play her banging music loud and her room is above my daughters nursery.
my partner has gone to football and cannot send him up to speak to her. I dont really want to leave my daughter on her own to go up there...any ideas?!
i understand its only just gone 7 but my daughter has her bedtime and i like to stick to it..thanks

my neighbours are selfish idiots too....I just shout swear words upstairs at them! Tellling them to shut the **** up! Oh and I play my music LOUD during day when I am here to annoy them. Also, I used to hear my neighbours bed (if you know what I mean - squeak squeak!) so I put music on loud so I couldnt here! Sorry not much help, ranting about my horrible neighbours

Use a broom like the bloke in Friends used to...

I wonder about the state of our society when people are inconsiderate towards others but I think in this situation it would be wise to try and mediate a solution at a time to suit both parties as it is unfortunate that you can't approach them now. You could also phone your partner and ask him to come home, I know I would !

Lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#12
Would say see tonight through and go and speak to them tomorrow, that way things are less likely to get heated.
#13
how old is your daughter
#14
It is only 7pm...I for one am no more or less respectful at 7pm than at 1pm.
#15
I had to swap my children's bedrooms over the week after moving in because of next door, and my eldest (poor sod) has the smallest room just so my daughter (who goes to bed a lot earlier) doesn't get disturbed.
#16
Have u spoken to them? My neighbours wont open the door to anyone...very odd I know, so that wont work with mine
#17
aww hon that sounds awful.. can your little one settle down on the sofa till your OH gets home?
#18

I know where you are coming from
( I work stange shifts and am just about to go to bed myself!! )
having said that, if tired you will get to sleep!
If it is really that bad and your neighbour will not listen
then i suggest you contact the council.
Good luck
( shame your oh isn't about eh?!?!? )
#20
Def try to speak to them...also speak to environmental health at council?

it is awful..it really grinds on me how people dont think about others!!
#22
start making a diary of all the times and dates of when it happens then contact your local council authority, they take noise pollution seriously these days wuth dedicated teams resolving and investigating any complaints.

or send the boys around.........

the choice is yours
#23
it depends what your neighbour is like.. if she seems nice i'd pop up there with a bag of sweets or summin for kids and say... my little one has been feeling poorly past couple of days and shes just settling to sleep now, would u mind turning your music down a little? if that'd be too scary then i'd wait for my OH to go beat down the door...lol

agree with other comments, if it gets to bad you might need to report it but then of course you risk her getting angry at you and turning the music up louder just to pee you off.

i'm sorry sweetie, i think its awful when people are inconsiderate like that x x
#25
2 of my neighbours are really bad...both very inconsiderate..love playing loud music all day and night..one even goes out with it still on. I have reported her before but then it goes quiet. clawhammer to her stereo sounds about right!!!

good idea with the diary as thats exactly what the local authority will tell you to do for a few weeks to start off with.

My neighbours kids were a pain, playing their music really loud when my boys were babies, annoyed me more than bothered my kids TBH. We had to have a quiet word a couple of times but ended up putting up with it. Now their kids have left home and my kids are in their teens..........revenge is a dish best served cold :)

ha ha i dont fancy putting up with it for that long though!!

have you actually spoken to them about it as I don't think there's much wrong with playing music during the day and even up to 7 pm which I don't consider to be late at all.

do you have a young child?!
#30
Do they rent? If you know their landlord you could file a complaint with them - threatening to get the council involved tends to make them act rather sharpish.

If it makes you feel any better - the person in the flat above my girlfriend has put a washing machine into the room above her bedroom and they decide to do a full cycle around midnight every night. The wonderful insights into people's lives you gain :)

Thats neither here or there,my point is if they don't know you've got a problem with the music then nothing will happen as I don't believe playing music at 7pm is excessive however if you came to my door and explained then I'd turn the music down.
Have you asked them?
#32
after a hard days work i want to enjoy my evenings sat down in front of the tele being able to hear coronation street while my daughter sleeps soundly in her bed in the flat i pay my rent for. I dont want to be disturbed by a disrespectful human being who feels the need to listen to loud music while her kid runs riot around her council paid for flat. I deserve peace and quiet regardless of what time it is!

no i havent...i dont like to complain but now its disturbing my daughter i will.
#35
If I was in your situation I would honestly complain. I hate my little girl being disturbed and she goes to bed at 7 and has a nap during the day too. I've got a complaint going on with the council at the moment as they're tearing up the pavement directly outside my house and they conveniently forgot to tell me even though I own the land outside! So the house vibrates for most of the day and the noise is awful. Stick to your guns, think of your little one :)

your not my neighbour are you... I have a neighbour who complains about the slighest little noise.....I know I someties play my music a bit too loud..I think its because it wouldnt bother me if they did it...

Feel bad now though after reading your OP..*turns music down*

ha ha no i have never complained about the one above me...i understand that people are going to make noise but excessive music when i cant hear my tele takes the biscuit. Trust me i have stayed calm when her kid is jumping up and down continuously for 20 mins and even through her marathon LOUD sex sessions with every tom dick and harry (when her kid is in the flat too) and believe me she is not quiet!!she plays her music throughout the day too but there has to be a limit. There is only so much i can take and when it affects my daughter i get angry.

at last, I'd also try to do it nicely and not mention what you think of the fact she apparently lets her kids run riot or the council pays her rent.

enjoy coronation st:thumbsup:

Also, I once lived next to a house squating prostitute when I was in Hull - when she had punters around I would play Handel's "Hallelujah" Chorus as loud as I could on my hi-fi with the speakers directed at the wall.

She soon moved on :D
