Hello lovely techy people. I'd be sooooooo grateful if anyone could advise if this netbook looks any good??? I'm quite impressed with the spec, but not sure about the Intel Atom processor.........I know nothing about them, anyone know if they're decent?? I've googled but mixed opinions.

I saw one in Comet today, and I admit I'm a little (lot) swayed buy the sexy factor, but I do need something functional too!! (It looks better irl than in the pic, honest!)

I mainly use my current netbook (eeepc701 running XP) for surfing and for storing pics on hols etc so nothing heavy, but I really want something fast, I've got no patience with slow computers!!

Thank you so much :-)

The Atom is roughly the same speed as the Pentium M inside the eee 701. If you're not satisfied with the speed of your eee then forget the Atom and netbooks, you'll have to look at one of the faster Athlon Neo based machines or an Intel CULV machine.

I had an eee with a Celeron in it, and the Atom in my NC10 is much much faster (i.e. can run XP / Chrome / Office 2007 fine...)

Cheers for that. My eee wasn't slow when I first put nlited XP on it, it was lightening fast! But a couple of years down the line (and almost none of it's 4gb hard drive space left) it's clogged up and painful to use!!

So time for a shiny netbook. I know they're limited, I don't expect it to be as fast as a top spec lappy or anything, just as long as I don't have time make a cup of tea and walk the dog waiting for hotmail to load :whistling:

Just wish the Tosh wasn't so pretty :p
