Hi folks,
I need a bit of help...
I have been given a £100 gift certificate for Amazon and decided to get a netbook.
I've trawled Amazon and there are soo many that I'm baffled by it all.
I was looking at the ones with Windows 7 on but they all seem to be Windows 7 starter and I read a few duff reviews about it.
My price limit is, inc the gift certificate, is £260
Can anyone guide me in the right direction ??
Thanks

Most netbooks are not powerful enough to run anything but Windows 7 Starter edition.

Been running home premium on my AAO for ages without any issues at all!

If there was anyway you could stretch your budget to £350 you could get something with an ION GPU which makes all the difference when it comes to HD multimedia. Something like the HP Mini 311!

Why not buy an EEEbox? I have the B202 version and it runs Windows 7 Home version just fine with 2GB ram instead of the normal 1GB it comes with. You just need to supply your own monitor.

Bang on the money. My B202 can play HD 720p video back just barely. Get something that can play some HD video back. It will be worth it!

Even the newer B206 models are HD players.

Maybe we are just confusing you even more now :)

the only difference I can see from the specs is that the top one has bluetooth and a larger battery. Unless you will be using it on the go I would get the bottom one. Bluetooth dongles can be got for £2 or less from dealextreme and ebay.

i'd suggest taking a look at the asus eee 1005ha netbooks,
personally that is what i'm planning to get (i'm hoping prices drop a little next week after CES), they have a good feel and look hotter than the samsungs XD

And on another note most can be upgraded to windows 7 with the free upgrade offer most companies are giving (make sure you check first on the manufacturers website if the models are eligible).
