Netbook technical help for Inspiron Mini

I bought this netbook http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/expansys-199-99p-possible-3-cashbac/742373?page=5

I am really pleased with it but it is running a bit slow and I imagine it is all the extra rubbish that is on there from Dell. The touchpad is also ultra sensitive. Anyone that has one that is a little bit technical tell me what may speed it up a bit and what I can and shouldn't remove! Cheers,

best bet download tune up utilities free trial that will recommend everything you should and shouldnt remove plus optimize windows for performance and help it run a lil bit faster

I would run this utility (but don't remove anything) to list what's installed, so we can confirm what should be removed.

OK, this is what it offers me the opportunity to remove, but I have already removed Mcafee and the Dell user guide thingy. Another thing, why is this bl**dy mouse/keyboard so sensitive compared with my NC10. It jumps everywhere, is there any way I can change it so it isn't as sensitive.. You may be able to help Scotty Boy as I think you may have posted the deal for these notebooks originally!

Adobe Reader 9.Ink (Icon)
Adobe Reader Speedlauncher (RunReg)
HotKeysCmds (RunReg)
Microsoft Office 60 day trial.Ink (Icon)
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 (Program)
igfxtray (RunReg)
Persistance (Runreg)

Talk about putting me on the spot!!!! :p

I would suggest uninstalling the Adobe Acrobat Reader and using Foxit Reader instead - with regards to Microsoft Office I would do the same as long as you haven't already purchased & activated a license for it (you only have the sixty-day evaluation copy by the look of it); you can use OpenOffice as a replacement.

The other ones I would leave as they may be linked into the Dell system support (can't confirm as I don't have access to this specific model of netbook) - with regards to the touchpad sensitivity issue you need to pop over to the MyDellMini User Forum, as that topic has been covered over there (off the top of my head, it was a recommendation to install an updated device driver/third party software).

Edit - If you don't have any antivirus software installed now, you need to get this done ASAP - best bet would be to pop over to the Ninite Software Installer Website (http://ninite.com/) and install one from there; you can also install Foxit Reader & OpenOffice from there as well.
