I am thinking of buying a an antenna to my netgear router as downstairs has trouble connecting sometimes. Ihave been told the default antenna is 2dbi, i am thinking of buying a 9dbi antenna tpo increase it range....

i just need to know if :

1)anyone has successfully done this(i can remove the antenna i have now, but does the new antenna improve range etc)
2)how do i find out if they are compatable
3)i am unsure what connection the antenna is (eg. SMA)
4)cheapest 9dbi i can find on ebay is around 8.50 from fleabay -300275207068.

Thank you for your help in advance.

I've just bought one from eBay - 12dBi (so they claim) for £2.70 delivered. We'll see how good it is, but I'm not setting my hopes too high.
