Network Powerline adapters?

Hey guys just recently my internet in my laptop has been running really slow and disconnecting every now and then. but besides that point this is my question:
Powerline adapters, is it as simple as plugging an ethernet cable into my BT homehub, then one into an adapter, then plugging into the wall.
Then getting another ethernet cable into my laptop, then into the adapter, and into the wall?
Hopefully im thinking that would resolve my laptop/internet solution

although if your internet hasnt always been that way perhaps try to figure out the problem first could be a virus or just your laptop needs a good clean up and defrag may i think you can download tune up utilities free trail which is really good for cleaning up your system. and even defrags the registry which helps with certain issues

It only started happening recently now that my gf has started playing online games on it (WoW) lol

is it that it drops out in games only like when she is playing online?

As mentioned above, you may have a bad mix of spyware on it. I clean this off PC's constantly for friends.

Download Spybot:

Install it and reboot.
Keep tapping F8 when you switch the PC on choose Safe mode
Run a scan and clean anything it finds.

I assume you have up to date virus software (not the same as spyware), if not download a free one AVG is fine:

install and scan.

You may also want to run CCleaner before the above, it cleans the temp files and will speed up the scans.

Sancho1983 mate, the reason people have gone off question is that he makes the comment 'It only started happening recently now that my gf has started playing online games on it (WoW) lol'. This means he may not need a powerline adapter, it may be as simple as removing spyware or similar which can be done for free.

Yeh both you guys answered in equally helpful ways, because iw as thinking of converting to the adapters anyway so im glad its that easy.
And was unaware that the spyware could have caused this, so i will now be looking into that thanks
