How long is something 'New' ..... on the way to work there are some traffic lights with an official metal sign stating 'New Traffic lights' (thats how I knew they were new!) and I wondered how long something is new and who decides when its not 'New'?

I often wonder the same thing, also when is a 'new road layout' no longer new?

A date should be put on the sign so you know if it is the same set of lights you saw last time or they are even newer ones.

That said, if you drove around just observing road signs & not watching the road (to actually see a set of traffic lights) then you shouldn't be driving anyway.

"New person crossing the road"
"New car pulling out on your left"
"New accident just about to hap..."

An extremely sound observation and quite profound in its wisdom.(_;)oO
In view of this I shall ignore all 'New' signs and stick to the old established signs .... signs like 'no overtaking on the inside lane' X) and 'Disabled Parking only' X) which as we know everyone abides by!

The people who repainted the car parking spaces at my local Co-Op have in their infinite wisdom moved the disabled spaces away from the ramp and put them over the opposite side near the stairs. oO
