Good day,

Ive had a charger for rechargeables lying around for months so decided to crack it open and charged the two aaa's you get with it no problem, bought some hama 2700 aa's off one of the deals here to use in it but they will not charge at all , the light to say they are charging does not come on at all ! whats all that aboot !

the charger is a 'powerplus' 230v charger and it says it should work with all Ni-MH batteries which is what the hama batteries are

Probably duds. Can you send them back?

probably, got them from the 7 day shop, they have charge in them , when I put them in the wii controller they show three out of four bars of charge so cant see why they wouldnt charge up to full.... oh well

Sounds more like a duff charger, how old is it ?

ive had it sat in the packaging for around six months, maybe longer, as I say it charged the two aaa's i got with it no problem but no sign of any action on the aa's im thinking it probably the charger as well though, its not exactly a high quality make 'power-plus' never heard of em .

Probaly made when the biggest AAs were 1800mah so doesnt recognise yours,A good charger is worth the money as it makes you batteries last a lot longer,

thinking about going for this one http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_3&products_id=105776 i was looking at the one with four eneloop batteries but i read a post about it being bad because it charges two batteries at once and that can destroy batteries if you put a bad one in with a good one, anyone know if the same is true of this energizer one or does it have seperate charging circuits?

or can anyone recommend a good charger at around the £10 mark ?

cheers

Sometimes batteries from cheaper shops (especially far-east based) push the limits of physical size and don't make correct contact with the charger - I've had some from dealextreme which wouldn't fit properly in one of my chargers - maybe the same problem?

I had some 2500's from 7DayShop, one of the 4 was a dud and as my camera takes all 4 I didn't realise it was only one for a while until I tested them in something else, sent them back for a replacement, they send you a returns envelope (postage paid) and turned it around really quickly in their defence.

all these batteries work in the wii remote and show a charge of 3 out of four bars so i assume its as mentioned earlier, the charger not being able to handle the high capacity, the batteries seem to fit into the charger and the wiimote fine so I dont think its that and i was led to belive the hama, although not the best are quite a reputable make
