Hi Folks, Need a bit of advice, particularly off the camera buffs on here. I need a new camera, and have £150 to spend at amazon.

Can anyone tell me what the best is from the selection there? I could compare all night and not really know!!

I want a good camera with lots of settings, as well as being a good point and click. Perhaps the most important thing is it has to be quite small and fit in my pocket comfortably! It needs to have a rechargable battery too! So any advice from the show us yer pics crew??

I think the sony cybershot T50 is amazing. Small, 2.5 inch touch screen, takes amazing photos, 7 mp, battery goes on and on and on forever. Colours are great, anti-shake function and lots of other gadgety bits. Worth looking into.

Try www.dpreview.com ..excellent website and very informative with lots of images taken with the cameras that have been reviewed.Click on camera database on the top left to select whatever make you wish too look at.

You could go for a SLR type camera that has all the features of standard click and shoot but these SLR types tend to have better lenses and have a few extra bells and whistles added than the standard click and shoot types.

Have a look at the Fuji 5700 7 Megapixel to get an idea of SLR types..

I'm thinking about this: Sony Number, any good?

or This?

If I was spending my own cash, I would have two categories:

SLR - Better picture but normally slightly chunkier, more professional pictures
Fuji s5700 seems to be the best. Has great reviews and very good specs for just under £100.

"Traditional Digital" - More lightweight, less complex
Samsung i85 Seems to have good specs and looks more appealing than the SLR style.

Im not however a camera person and just tend to look between style, megapixels, optical zoom, digital zoom, weight and size and haven't seen or used either them.

yeah, ditto. Don't want an SLR, because I would never want to carry it about...so a 'traditional digital' is the only option.

I'm away to buy the samsung you just mentioned I think. Cheers and Repped

The £161 one seems quite pricey for normal specs... the other one is alright but doesnt seem anything amazing to me.

Hopefuly a camera enthuast could stop buy and help.
Might be worth asking the question other on AVForums as well there's some real specialist knowledge on the Photography boards
