Received an item bought from ebay that was SNAD and damaged, tried to go through the regular dispute channels but received a message to call ebay for a new trial process.

After going through problem with them and taking all relevant info they told me that they would refund the amount to paypal immediately(which thy did) and I could dispose of the item.

All sorted within 10 minutes, said they were testing a new system.

Anyone else has this or know what its all about??

ive never herd of it but i can see it getting abused if they refund so easy more buyers will be saying things are wrong when they not and more bad luck for sellers, i hope not tho cos its hard enuff for sellers
glad you got your refund nice and quick lot less stressfull for genuine cases :)

If they say that you can dispose of the item, isnt that going to encourage people to make false claims so that they get a refund and the product? How do they get proof that it was damaged?

They are trying to turn into more of a business & this will just wipe out small sellers as this is going to get so much abuse.
Someone @ ebay has been on the c**** pipe again!!

Surely the fact they are telling people to keep the item as well is just wrong?

I phoned the number for a SNAD, and was told to go to the Paypal dispute. How long does it normally take for Paypal to respond to an escalation?

Yep, the seller said to escalate it, so I did.
How long till paypal respond with their decision, how long do I have to send it back and how long after then will paypal, if in my favour, refund?

ebay are just getting worst and worst for sellers day by day, all their policies are biased towards sellers, if you wanna sell something you have to go through millions of verification checks but to in order to buy something you can create millions of ebay ids and annoy every single seller, leave negative feedback etc.
