there's a good chance this is going to be colder than Nick Griffin paying homage to Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration but here goes...

O2 has announced prices for the new iPhone 3 GS available in the UK from 19th June.

The worst bit about it is that if you already loyally bought an iphone on an 18month contract you have to wait another SIX months before you pay up your contract and can upgrade - unbelievable

Far too expensive for the 3g tethering. Are O2 trying to alienate the existing iphone customers? People are going to keep the Iphone 3G and jailbreak it rather than buying the new 3GS.

I think I will stick to my standard 3G iPhone for now...
#3
I have an ipod touch and would love an iphone, but I am not prepared to be ripped off.

whats the diff between 3g and 3gs?

can you still use a 3g phone or are they scrapping it?

dont worry there are plenty of ways to tether for free

You're right about the 'cold' thing :)

What happens if you are coming to the end of an o2 contract, Ive been 18 months on a high spend with an N95. If I want to get the new iphone can you negotiate as you would with any other phone or are these prices/tariffs set in stone?

cheers

You can still use the existing 3G iphone but the new one is faster. The old 3G iphone will have the new software update 3.0 from 17th June.

this sums it up

or this is how they wanted to present the new one
#14
why is it "misc". and why is it expired?

Sounds great but if O2 will not let you trade up to the new one until Feb 2010 which I think is when the majority of contracts run out then they will be left with quite a lot of stock.

I moved it to misc as it's not a deal as such; but I think it was expired as there are a few hundred (bit OTT of me) posts already very similar (most have been spammed now) HERE
