I have been reliably informed (as i phoned up for a new contract sale) that 02 are releasing new tarrifs for the iphone from Sat 1st of Nov so if you are waiting to upgrade / buy new contract it would be worth waiting till then.

need more info please like is it only online or instore , what tarrifs and how much etc
#2
that sounds more realistic than the 'half price' rumour thats going round.

thanks for that.

There are no new tariffs for iphone coming out on Saturday
#4
looks like we will have to wait and see.

Heard this quite a lot now. Only way is to wait and see i would think.

I think it's likely.

Google phone out today, its main rival which is a lot cheaper. They have got to do something.

Atually the main rival will be the Nokia 5800...when its released..

They are all rivals but cant beat the iphone lol iphones just outta da league
#8
Yeah. I had an HTC diamond I just sold.

Has all its features and schnitt, but at the end of the day, iphones where all the development is at. Everything else is deemed too niche.

Indeed. Promises lots, delivers little. Do you think the iPhone will ever get promoted to the Premier?
#10
I just popped into my local carphone warehouse who reckon there are no new tarrifs but they also said the price of the iphone is due to drop but didnt elaborate. This may not be until the 32gb version is released though.
#11
i've just got off the phone to 02, 'no new deals on the iphone in the next month'

i hope not ;-)
#12
Well, its the first and.... and...... NOTHING! Oh well.

I guess the price will be dropping anyway when (or if) the 32gb comes out but im not sure I can wait that long so I might get mine today.
#13
Nothing there :(

I' ve phoned both o2 and CPW and been to both shops today, nothing on offer.

so in the end I thought stuff it and just bought one. I was going to go through Quidco with CPW for the extra £45 but thought if anything goes wrong with the phone can I trust CPW to sort it, I doubt it. so bought from O2 shop instead. piece of mind ruled the day

the only saving grace is that from both shop they will refund the difference within 14 days if the price or tariffs change. be just my luck for the offer to start on the 16th

The way I see it is that the iPhone is like Arsenal, flash, skillfull and cost a lot of money.

Whereas the others are like Stoke and Hull, not as pretty to look at as Arsenal, but have everything to remain resilient.

But then again, Stoke and Hull both beat Arsenal....

This seemed as something started as a rumour by kinnth.

It would have been good if it were true. waste of time. maybe go back to your source and let them know.

I was also told on the phone by O2 that there would be new tariffs in November but I wasn't given a specific date. The guy just told me not to purchase one yet because they would be releasing better tariffs to attract customers during the Christmas period.

I do think that we will see new November Tarrifs from the sources i have heard. Just seems that no one knows for definate when we may see them.

Sources today indicate that Apple are cutting iPhone production dramatically in the last Quater this year. New iPhone coming maybe? Storage bumps.... 32GB version? Who knows. But i'll be holding on till the new year, IF there isn't any good offers come along as rumoured.

I have heard on the grapevine that a new law may be imposed in regards to non-serviceable batteries....ie. as in what the iPhone has; A battery you can't change.
Perhaps they are producing them to these standards? :?

Through apple, or do it yourself. Guides on YouTube etc, and replacement batteries and things from many places.

Nothing yet.. maybe next week!

Saw this today:

http://stuff.tv/News/Apple-plotting-iPhone-price-cut/11206/

Happening in France, may be something in the offing over here soon.
#26
Also just saw the article. Will be interesting to see what comes tomorrow! Hopefully i'll hear back from Three tomorrow and fight them out my contract and actually get a phone which works. Wil be nice if it happens!!!!!
#27
I am having problems with Three aswell. Every so often cant make or receive calls due to "connection error" message.

Think the price drops will come in January (early) if not before.

Strong rumours, and good pointers to a 32GB iphone getting announced at MacWorld 2009 (5-9 Jan). Therefore i would expect price cuts in the run up to this really! So maybe the next few weeks will bring possible price cuts on the iphone, 8gb, and / or 16gb models. Here's hoping! They did the same sort of thing with the 4GB and 8GB iphones. 4GB was discont. in the new year.

Rumours also of FLASH support for the iphone to be announced and available to download around the time of the MacWorld event.
#29
IF a 32GB one is anounced at macworld, do you know roughly how long it might take to be available to buy?
Do these things follow any sort of pattern?
#30
I'm thinking of getting a PAYG 8gb Iphone 3g as a gift for a brother.

Should I wait and see if the price drops nearer to Chrimbo or is their a chance it could be in short supply by then?
#31
I WOULD wait and see mate. Definitely. Obviously, nothing can be guaranteed but it is likely that it may see price cuts. HOWEVER.... check with your stock REGULARLY as Apple have said to have stopped production of the 8GB model (or have definitely cut production of the iphone) which indicates that if a price drop comes, less will be available.

So wait, but check!!

When ;-) the 32GB iPhone comes out, then i would think that it would be available the same week. This was the case with the first iphone storage bump, however again, can't be guaranteed.
