New NHS Message about catching coughs / sneezes and binning them - Reason ?

Well I and my immediate family seem to have this cold which keeps coming around all the time , sore throat , coughing - sounds like a dog barking ...or whooping cough and loads of phlem . It goes eventually . chesty cough remains for a while and then when its gone . the effects come back a few weeks later and it all starts again . Anyway these ads come out about catching and binning the germs .
I have a theory that we are in an epidemic of this but its being hushed up ....How many others know of , including themselves of the same situation ..... I cant remember as many colds going about in the last 6 months ever ......

Could be? all I know is that I have had this 'cough/flu/cold bug or whatever it is for about 6 weeks now & I haven't really been ill for the last 5 years!!
So very rampant whatever it is!!

I don't think it's an epidemic as such, but more how people are behaving when they have these colds. All of the kids at the nursery where my son goes have been sniffing and coughing and the staff have been desperately trying to get them to cover their mouths when they're doing it, but they just seem to be running around and coughing in each others faces. My lad has learnt to cover his mouth when he coughs, but as soon as he gets rid of one thing, he gets something else because someone has spluttered all over him.

It's a similar situation at my daughters school. The sickness bug that was doing the rounds before christmas - well, that's still alive and kicking there because kids are being sick in school, sent home and the next day they're back in school again despite the school pleading that kids are now kept off for 48 hours after being sick so they can try and stop it spreading. Trouble is, I think parents are having problems finding childcare and taking time off themselves, so they're sending the kids back in before they're 'uncontaminated' and the bugs just keep being circulated.

I'm quite happy it's still cold cause it means I don't look too out of place with a scarf wrapped round my mouth whenever I'm at the school :-D

I found that since my kids started school, we've had more colds and coughs than ever before. x x x x x

dont it make you suspicious though as we all had these coughs and colds as kids but it seems more prominent now and repeats over and over . It repeats over and over

I haven't seen the ad but we have found that if you keep washing your face and hands (not all th time, every couple of hours) it seems to shorten the cold. I read that you can put it back in your mouth by touching your face and then putting your fingers near your mouth..........we don't all catch it either, which is really good as there are loads of us!

I definitely think there is a lot more virus's and infections flying around than ever before. I think it is down to these infections and virus,s becoming immune to treatment. ie antibiotics etc etc.

You will find it's because people in general are travelling around the world a lot more where new strains of cold and viruses are, they bring them back here and give it to everyone else. :whistling:
