New phone advice

Hi I currently have the iPhone 3g 8gb I think? My question is my contract is soon up for renewal and I'm not sure whether to stick with it or get a new contract. I mainly use it for hotukdeals of course, facebook, Internet shopping, and calling and texting. There are so many new phones out there it's baffling. What in your opinion is the best phone for my requirements. Thanx to all who reply just such a mine field x

To be honest, I don't think there is anything to compare to the iPhone for the things you describe. I got mine a few months ago, and don't know how I would get along without one now. There are some new handsets from Nokia and Sony Ericsson, but in my opinion they still have a lot of catching up to do.

I would either keep your existing iPhone and just try to renew your contract cheaply. I think you can get O2 simplicity tariff for £20 a month with unlimited internet bolt on. Or take the chance to upgrade to the iPhone 3GS if you can afford it.

I was contemplating upgrading as our company had an offer on with o2 but they have taken the iPhone out of the offer typical!!!! But it's gud to know about simplicity that wud halve my monthly payout. Wud have liked the video option of the new one but think that's the only upgrade I'd miss. Thanks again x

Im sure i read somewhere that you can download an app to use the camera to record video's on any of the iphone's so you would not need the 3gs you can do it with the one you have.

Yeah you can get a video camera app on the old ones but it runs at the cameras max speed of 15 fps which is a bit choppy but its still very reasonable. I think the new one might run at 30fps? not entirely sure. Either way you can get a camera app

The 30fps is that on the 3G or 3GS?

You need the 3GS for 30fps video recording
