Our Epson All-in-One printer has died. Desperately need one, but have no idea what to get. I think that was quite a high spec one, but that was about 3+ years ago.

Dad says limited to £120, but i doubt that would cover an all-in-one laser, so what inkjet to get, probably under £100.

Any brands I should avoid with expensive ink?

go for another epson, you canna beat them with compatible inks, we had an epson rx425 think it was about £40/£50 and never had a problem with it, inks are resonable enough (not the dirt cheap crap) for son to print off all the crap he wants

+1 definitely stick with Epson. I had an all in one Epson for years then got a new PC and new printer which was Lexmark and hate it. Inks are so expensive and compatibles never worked properly. Going back to Epson again as the compatible ink works a treat and so cheap.

I have had experience in Epsoms, Lexmarks and Canons...I found the Epsoms and Lexmarks were very poor, in comparison the Canon is leagues ahead! I say go for canon.

Id go against another epson, mines an absolute pain. Had it replaced once as thought faulty but this ones the same, eats ink and then tells me that the other catrdiges are not compatibly. Apparantly epson think that I should replace my already inserted official epson catridges with recommended ones such as official epson ones.

my mums hp photosmart express is superb quality, but the inks can be pricey
it depends on what u want it for, my mum uses hers for printing off images for making cars so the quality has to be good, she tried an epson first and sent it back, the quality was poor, and that was with epson inks

Had a number of Epson ink jets and yes the ink is cheap but seemed to spend time almost every few weeks changing the damn things.

Bought a lazer for £48, Samsung I think. Not had to touch anything on it for months, just what I needed
