Ok, so moved into a house on wednesday, thought nothing of it. All fine first night, and the second night. Was told it was haunted, and then paranoia set in.. had 3 hours sleep the third night!

Thing is, last night, went ok.. feeling all fine about it feeling fairly happy.. till the cat in the kitchen started to 'meow'... and it ran, and i mean ran from the kitchen and into the passage and then it scratched the carpet... a good 10ft away. It done it twice...

Full story (From page 2)

Lol. Some funny comments! I actually left the house last night. Here's what i've written..

Hi there, just a quick summary of what i've experienced since i've moved in.

Quick synoposis. Helen and John were here last year - and just heard things bang and smells of toast when noone had made any. A friend of the housemates seen someone in the kitchen - the only sighting thus far though. A cat is in the house, so for the bangs, I've actually justified to myself that it's the cat that makes these bangs, anyway:

Ok, so moved in on Wednesday, first night and all went well. I'd been out drinking so I just went straight to sleep when I got in. Second night, again all was fine. Third night however, I started hearing bangs and woke up to the smell of toast as it was the first time, I was a little freaked and found it hard to sleep. I was told the same day about it, as a housemate caught me watching Ghost hunters and told me how she would smell toast over the summer, and hearing bangs and things coming from the kitchen, and she was the only person in the house so I sort of alerted myself, that it isn't right. Anyway, last night I actually left the house - I'd said around 11pm in my room out loud, can you please stop. (I had a plastic bag that was at the foot of the bed, and it hadnt made a noise all day, and it sounded like something had flicked it) Anyway, this is what prompted me to say it, and shortly after I went up to the middle floor to brush my teeth. The bathroom door was open, and noone walked past, I'd come back downstairs to open my door(bearing in mind I had to walk past the kitchen to get to my bedroom without any smell, yet as I walked into my bedroom I could smell toast). Well, this freaked me out, because like I said its the smell that it's meant to cause. So is that acceptance to my request? or denial to it? Needless to say, I got ready and slept at my mates. I've only been moved in 5 days and this is happening already. I'm in my final year of University and I dont particularly want this to be participating in my failure, due to lack of sleep.

I was in the kitchen last night too, and was just making myself some cereal (before the bag sounded like it'd been flicked and what not) and the cat followed me in - and it literally ran from the kitchen, all the way to the passage, around about 10-15 feet away, and started scratching. Almost as if it was chasing something. This also freaked me out.

Also, the first night, John in the house felt his bed move and he then felt a cold sensation as if it was getting into bed with him - this is all in the last 5 days. (Helen had joked that it is probably because of a new housemate)

Anyway, what's your take on the scenario? I've looked for information regarding the area but couldn't find anything, but have just been told stuff including being told by a friend that her mates were living in the street behind me, and that house was also haunted. If its any help, I live in Middlesbrough, England. Near albert park, on a street called STREET STREET, NUMBER.

Regards, Darryl.

Student prank lol

Ghosts aren't harmful btw (_;).........serious!!!

It's all in your head, there's no such thing as ghosts! (_;)

If someone tells you a ghost story and it creeps you out, you're bound to feel a little uneasy when in the dark / on your own. Same kinda thing where you might not sleep great after seeing a horror film.

Ah yeah i know, ive actually seen a couple in my normal house and so has the mother. But that was 7-8 year ago now. So kinda outgrew the fear. But it's coming back! i'm 22 man, i need to grow some balls.

Having worked 8yrs of nights including walking around a roman burial grounds past a tree where someone hung themself, past a warehouse where someone also hung themself from the beams... ghosts do not exist. Apart from one scare that i won't go into.

Anyway what you doing with a cat in student accommodation? Unless its been brought in by the landlord to kill the rats infesting the house?

^^to sort that out you will need 3D glasses (so you can see the ghosts), a lightsaber (toy one is fine, its the idea of the blade that counts) a Darth Vader voice changer (scare the crap out the ghosts when they hear it) and some Tulips (try and bribe them to leave)

Lol. I just think the person who it is, loved toast. I might actually just leave a slice of toast out on the kitchen top. Would be an idea...
#30
Are you a girl?

Your housemates are winding you up, no such things as ghosts.

Maybe clean out the crumb tray on your toaster too.
#31
I think i must be a girl yeah! Would be an idea to do that, but the toast wasnt in the passage leading to my bedroom, so rules it out as my bedroom door was closed and the passage never smelt of it

Was walking with my work dog through a late 1930's dutch barn at work pitch black around midnight, cloudless sky, no wind but a bright moon shone over the site and could almost see as clear as day. As I got to the end of the barn the metal chain link fence that stands about 10m high rattled like mad. I immediately looked around and there was nothing in sight, no bird no nothing. My dog was startled by it too so wasn't just my crazy imagination.

One guy reported talking to a ghost once at work and he isn't a nut case, but I think he is for saying it.

Have you not considered the following:

"Ok, so moved into a house on wednesday, thought nothing of it. All fine first night, and the second night. Was told it was haunted, and then paranoia set in.. had 3 hours sleep the third night!"

How come it was only haunted when somebody started trying to wind you up?

I think 99% of people in the same scenario would of probably bricked it! lol. Im staying here next few nights, see if i can sort it out. Would be an easy option to move out

dogs can see ghosts so get one, and if it starts barking for nothing...call the ghostbusters.

I agree, people will call you all sorts but if it happened to them then it'd be different.

If it was me I would move out lol

My dad used to live in a haunted house, we used to stay at weekends, in the loft room of all places, there were often people walking across the room and whatnot, breathing in my ear, walking up and down the stairs...it never got easier I hated going, used to sleep with the light on. I was only about 13 then, but I would be the same now, terrified!! oO

I know there will be loads of people now telling me i'm talking bull and was seeing things, you don't have to believe, I know it was true..

I hardly slept this morning. Had an hour from about 2-3am, but been awake since. lol. Bleh. I'm gonna get a medium in or something, because i dont know its intent (assuming there is something). If its good, and it means no harm.. inc not actually wanting to scare us, I think i can justify myself to staying here - Afterall, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger!
