Get a Pay as you go.

Some places (o2) ask you to put down a security deposit of say £100 if you're new to the country or don't have good credit.
Phone up and ask them bro

why not just spend ,spend ,spend spend,
this counrty gives lots of credit out
i was in £5800 debt after 30 months since leaving parents home,
however for phone contracts you will need debit card account to set up monthly agreed charges on contract, also for billing of nonexclusive mins and web browsing

should be able to get good deal out there for top of range phone
if you get a free console get a ps3 and i give you good price on it this will give you cash back

good luck

Spend on CCs... pay them off...
#5
Thanks. I will call them and ask

Another way is to buy using interest free deals, this will give your credit rating a boost. Having a bank account and spending cash does not do it. I would take out a pay as you go deal, paying £15 a month can give you loadsof calls and texts free

That's a bit unfair, the OP was only seeking genuine help.

O2 usually takes a refundable deposit to give you a contract. Not sure if they do now, but worth a try.

i wasnt havin a dig at the op just stating a fact

You could have fooled me..

It is not a " fact " either, you have no evidence to support your statement.

The OP asked a genuine question, he/she was not seeking any monetary gain, so therefore your reply was not very helpful to anyone.

A 'fact' tends to have at least a semblance of the truth about it....

i wouldnt know mate never been in just see people queing up outside

Maybe they were jobseekers?

anthonybala81 - getting a PAYG phone for a few months the upgrading to a contract may well be the way to go.

Could you not get one of those O2 sims that are just on a month by month basis so that if you go on the £20 a month plan you can get a bolt on free and then pick up a half decent handset yourself?

Doesn't lock you into a 12month contract so if you decide you can't pay that much you could just cancel and pick up a PAYG sim.
#29
Best advice in this thread was to get a pay as you go.
