Sorry but over 30Mbps upload way outdoes the extra 10Mbps in download in my mind. Thats a pretty darned fast connection for the UK!

That said - a 4ms ping over 100miles is fantastic. The speed of light is only around 186miles/ms!

Okay, that one wins so far, 117Mbps throughput is going to be hard to beat in the UK... Thats faster than normal 100Mbps ethernet and any wireless protocol can manage!

0ms ping () and symmetric upload/download!!! Thats the new best I'd say. Can't believe Virgin do a 60Mbps upload, thought they were rubbish for that...

It says the ISP in the results - most won't be regular ADSL though, they will be various sorts of higher-end connections for businesses...

A 90:1 ratio between download and upload is next to useless though - most things using TCP/IP send acknowledge packets or other confirmations which mean you will very rarely get close to utilising all the download bandwidth. 10:1 is not really good enough, in an ideal world everyone would have say 5:1 or better still 1:1 (DSL instead of ADSL).

Worto's winning - 135Mbps throughput, download is only half the result! You could have a 10Gbps download, if the upload was still fixed a 1Mbps then you will never really see the benefit

why on earth would you do that? Is it an option to keep the cost down?
#29
How can you get 90MB with BE?

That is a good speed for home bb providers, most people with these speeds are doing this at work with hugely expensive business bb.

The reason you download at 2.5mb instead of 19mb is because I believe one is done in bits/sec and one in bytes/sec. Cant remember which way round it is but one of them is 1/8 of the other so although you have 19mb broadband, the best you will download at is 1/8 of this. Thats why you would never see torrents reaching 19mb/sec download speed.

Im sure somebody on here will correct me and make this alot clearer but I tried my best
