im going to the US and A on may 31st (well haven't booked the flight yet!)

but return flights are around £300 for that date give or take... yet ill be travelling for 2 months and going home from vancouver.. now the one way flight is around £550! i really didnt want to have a stop over at madrid or zurich which seems to be the cheapest way to get out there at about £330

what on earth and why is that? can i book a return and just not come home with the ticket? or will immigration come and detain me?

any ideas? way to get a cheap flight? swim there? who knows!

So you want a flight from UK ---> USA and then return Candada ---> UK?
Most airlines allow you to leave from different airports, so you should be able to book this journey as a 'standard return'.

yeah basically, theres no option to change the return airport, how do you do that?

I tried expedia...for flights from LHR to JFK on 31st May and then flight back from Vancouver to LHR on Monday 2nd August comes to £478 total (both direct flights with Brit Airways). Seems good to me. (Don't forget your quidco too & nectar points)
If you wanna chek this go to the expedia home page and do the multiple destination flight search.
HTH, tuckeral
ps I tried monday 2nd as that's about the two months you mention and Monday's tend to be cheaper usually. You might want to try the australian or other expedia home pages (e.g. expedia.oz, expedia.nz etc) as sometimes the prices differ and the tickets are the same as previously mentioned on here before)

big help cheers,

Glad it helps  (may well be cheaper elsewhere, that was my first check as skyscanner and moneysupermarket searches aren't of any use for multi-destination flights like this (yet!))
