newbie question - Buyer asking to send before payment made?

I know i have no HUKD feedback yet but have over 100 on ebay (same username).

Wouldn't mind but buyer only joined in March and their feedback only 2.

How do i cover myself? Could i get them to send a nominal amount through paypal?

Or do i just take a risk?

dont do it .. If your going to send an item to a old establish user lots of feedback I would say yeah send it first.. but someone with no feedback on here .. no way Jose..

and do not use paypal gift either

they want you to send them the item before they pay for it?

Bit of a no brainer really isn't it?

Personally I wouldn't take the risk, if the buyer has good feedback then it would probably be a good way to go about it but with only 2 themselves it's almost the same as no feedback. You could suggest they message you on ebay a password to check the feedback is for you.

If you are still unsure I'd offer collection and if that fails I'd say don't go forward with the sale

If its your 'Collectors Edition' item that your talking about - id want money up front before posting

i have sent items to people on here before they paid, when i had no feedback and they had loads, i always look at the feedback and how many posts they have made, but i have been ripped off on here before and i wouldnt do it again

Guy has two feedback wouldn't do so.

Reply and wait for a bigger feedback user to reply.

And only agree if your happy with them and they can proove better feedback.

why  hundreds of sales go through perfectly every day.... the only ones that don't .... are ones that cannot follow the rules...... they are simple to follow and easily found so no reason not to follow them .... i have done 60+ transactions and not had a problem ..... syzable and others have done 100+ and never had problems ...

the numbers speak for themselves really

The sites not bad - but what spoil's it, are the recent cases of people not sending items that people have paid for

I recently traded on here for the first time, i would only buy from well known user names / good feedback

I will use this site again probably when im buying/selling dont be put off just be carefull

1st rule for newbies on this site...read the for sale rules on the site.
then if not sure dont trade but ask a forum snitch or mod or one of the lesser riff raff.. better to not trade than get ripped off

Please follow all guidleines before trading, and only trade with someone you are confortable trading with, follow the rules and you should be good, yes it doesnt stop you being scammed, but a landline numer and address helps if things go wrong, the biggest one to follow is ontl trade with someone you feel comfortale with

And if it was me, i would not send 1st to someone who is new and a feedback of only 2

Exactly.

Casper this is a normal prcatice on this site. If you have no or low feedback (actually on here, regardless of ebay etc) you will in most cases be asked to send first by the buyer.

But only do that if you are selling to someone established with a decent amount of feedback.
if the guy only has 2 feedback i would insist on him paying first.

just make sure whenever you do a trade, get a landline number for the person. Take a peek at the FS forum guidlines aswell and familiarise yourself :) all the best!

I bought something off a person on here with 20+ feedback and 4000+ posts and never received what I paid for. I tried messaging the mods but got no interest whatsoever. I'm now £15 out of pocket.

At least if I had used ebay and used paypal I'd get the money back.

I will never trade on here again, it is not supported well enough.
