Hi

Are there any Geordie members or others who can advise on decent hotels near Newcastle Airport? We have a very early flight. The only one I can find with includable parking is the Britannia Hotel but reviews are either great or shi erm not so good.

Cheers all!

I would stay anywhere in Newcastle, its only 15 minutes tops to the airport.

if there's a few of you try the albatross. Its a hostel but quite nice with free tea and toast and internet. Near to Monument Metro which has direct metros to the airport.

try the airport travelodge - 3 miles or so from Airport, its just off the A1, but at the end of the main Airport "in" road.

When are you staying over?

There's a Premier Inn RIGHT next to the airport. About 2 miles away, at the Kingston Park/A1 junction (2 mins in a taxi) there is an Innkeepers Lodge (next to a Toby Carvery) and a Novotel.

Or there are a couple of smaller private hotels/b&bs in Ponteland which is only a couple of mins in a Taxi.

For convenience I would consider the Premier Inn if its a very early departure as you just walk over the road.

Thanks guys for all your responses, that's really good of you. We're not going for a few months but I do like to get things arranged early. The Premier Inn does look very good but I can't see any long term parking there. Also from your collective responses, I don't see any recommendations for the Britannia so maybe that tells it's own story :D

Once again, much appreciated, thanks for taking the time.

My recommendation would be to use the Long Stay car park @ Callerton Parkway and get the very short metro from there direct to the Airport (one stop).

(this time of the year for 14 days is £39)

Then you are nice and close for the hotel.

for try Purple Parking (there is a code somewhere)

Dates for hotel, and length of holiday would help your cause, so us nice folk can search for the best deal

The Novotel is a goodun. They do parking and shuttle bus to the airport.
