You should give them a try or at least read some reviews once they're released before you pass your direct judgement.

xp and Windows 7 too?

What would you suggest is better than Windows 7?

Also, when did you get to use the windows phone 7 operating system?

I really want to play with one (I am intrigued) but the success of any new platform is generally down to the support from developers... Microsoft is not making friends at the moment

Click

Also, a lot of developers are complaining about whether the new OS is up to par...

Won't stop me having a look though.

Yeah, although I'm still not convinced about going for a windows phone over the desire HD? Hopefully more info is released soon enough.

I think there about a year to late, android has had good sales so if they want a fighting chance they should hae brought it out then. Although I still wanna play with one.

I said when did you use the windows phone 7 operating system.

since you've already made judgements on it, I assume you've used it already. As it would be pretty stupid to make personal judgements on something that you know so little about and all that you do know is what you've been told by other people.

FYI: it's "/sarcasm" not "#sarcam"

a year too late to what? what is this mythical deadline? do people only buy phones once and they are locked in to that operating system for life? I don't think you fully comprehend how big Microsoft is. they could throw OSs at the market till the cows come home and it not hurt them. look at the Kin, they just threw it away and are going to probably roll it into windows phone 7 lite or something.

I think if anything, it's great that MS have updated their mobile operating system and have totally innovated with the user interface and now there is another competitor in the smartphone market.

More choice is only a good thing for consumers like you and I.

I think there too late to be a big contender, most other developers are already writing software for the other major systems, im think theyve missed out on waiting to long where as others have made and built a good reputation and software for it. Im all for more choices for the consumer.

I think the thing about the new microsoft mobile OS is that it's got the business pedigree to challenge RIM OS, it has a strong marketplace business model like apple to entice devs (so the devs make money and not get ripped off with side loaded apps like android devs) and it is also a phone for pro users so will appeal to the android fanbase.

I used to have the touch HD on windows mobile 6 (I upgraded to 6.5.5) and now I have two android smartphones.

only thing that is different (better) on the android devices are the apps. but some of the apps are lacking still. like expenses tracking.

Microsoft isn't stupid, they are paying devs to start making apps for this new platform. plus the apps are written using silverlight which i dont claim to know the benefits but when that became apparent about a year back developers were going crazy.

one thing that looks really interesting is the whole xbox integration. I don't own an xbox myself but if this feature catches my eye enough in the future, such as continuous play/mini games or puzzles. I may buy a windows phone 7 device and an xbox at the same time.

I personally plan to buy an apple device next year (to see what the hype is about) then i'll buy a windows phone after that. hopefully by then all the fears about the platform and it's support by the app developers will be quashed.

exciting times ahead for all involved.
