Deal been deliberated on for long term US stay in Iraq. Just saw it on Al-jazeera

1. Over 50 US military base in Iraq.
2. Immunity for US soldiers against Iraqi laws.
3. No consent needed from Iraqi government to carry out military Ops.

I am still thinking of a word to qualify this.

You may all think this is just for oil...

Would you like to live in a country where women have no freedom?

Where mass graves are the normal?

Where you can be locked up for having your own views?
(Then again, that does sound like some Know It Alls on here...)

We have so much freedom in this country...

Why shouldn't everyone have the same freedom around the world?

If their counrty was like ours, the oil market would stablise and prices would drop...

so why not invade saudi arabia iran or virtually any country on the african continent?

just because a country doesn't share our same ideals etc doesn't mean we have to go and impose our views etc on them. look how far that got hitler.:whistling:

Does that justify innocent killing, The total number of people killed in bush Iraq is more than the number of people killed in Saddam iraq.

Does 2 wrong make a right , maybe yes.

War is war...

People die...

Most have been killed by insurgents who have been brainwashed...

Do you think they will stop if all troops pull out?

If only everything in life was so cut and dry!

There is value and bigotry in both arguments, but

I think both USA and UK should pull out of Iraq and let them get on with it. They will probably bring the nation to destruction with or without western intervention.

Yes they will...

They will then re-install all the rights that people didn't have before the invasion...

MASS GRAVES...

Do you think a terrorist will give in if we withdraw?

"hey, they have gone home, lets go round to Abduls for a BBQ and get back to how it was."
"yeah, good idea now we have what we want."
"we have what we want, what else can we get if we keep bombing and posting beheadings on the internet?"

The problem is that the West needs a destablised Islamic world, if Muslims ever became united, that is, work together instead of killing each other, then we would see Jihad on a much wider and uncontrollable level. Staying in Iraq only promotes the idea that the US and UK are Crusaders trying to take the wealth and land of Islam, thus uniting all Muslims for the cause.
I agree with you to a point, and I am no friend of Islamic ideology, but I do believe that we will never have a truly democratic Islamic state, so waste our time trying to impose one.

I think all men and women should have equal rights throughout the world...

People shouldn't live in fear of regimes and terrorists...

Education will change peoples views...
