Loch Fyne in city square is a real nice fish restaurant
Livebait down on the Calls is also nice (if you like fish - and you're feeling flush)

Entered through a “tiny doorway”, this “Tardis-like” city-centre Indian occupies a large first-site of unexpected sumptuousness; the traditional cuisine is of “consistent good quality”.

The ambiance was great, we had forgotten the time of the meal that we were still in Leeds. The food is very nice, we could taste every spice. I highly recommend.

Always great food and service. We've been about four/five times and always been impressed, but noticed the last couple of visits its been extremely quiet, even 8.30 on a Saturday night. This is a shame because it is a great restaurant - good honest food in spacey, different surroundings. Price reasonable even though they have ditched the complimentary fruit basket and started charging for poppodoms. Regardless, well worth a visit!

This is by far my favourite Indian restaurant in Leeds and have visited on many occasions.

When entering you are escorted to a comfortable seat where you can order refreshments while your table is being prepared and you are also given a menu so that you can begin the difficult task of choosing what you want to eat from an extensive variety of dishes.

Much comes as complimentary that you would pay for in other places too such as poppadoms at your table and a huge bowl of fruit at the end of your meal.

The service is fantastic with staff that are attentive but not intrusive so you can enjoy your meal in peace but with the knowledge that if you need anything there will be someone close by to help.

As for price, for what you get it's one of life's real bargains.

Highly Recommended for all occasions

Sukhothai in Chapel Allerton is amazing, it would be better to book though. My parents go a lot, and love it.

Theres also one in Headingley, but you have to be "cool" to eat there

That seems like a lovely place....would you think the Headingley one is the same standard, as I think I live closer to Headingley than Chapel Allerton

And I am a student....(just)....so I would fall into the;
"parents taking student daughter for a meal to make sure she actually has some food in her stomach before she gets dropped off"
group  lol

yes, i can think of some more places if you want something different. (wifey) x

At Oulton Hall there is a seperate restaurant annexe (Claret Jug I think) and we had a very nice meal there,

Bit out of Leeds, but the Aakash indian restaurant in Cleckheaton is a cracking place to eat. Its in an old converted chapel and when they converted it was apparently the biggest indian restaurant in the world.

They have buffet or a la carte........... the fish pakoras are awesome (sure i read a thread yesterday where someone hated them??? weirdos).. my mouths watering now.
#34
i think you mean bibis?
In which case its very expensive, but very nice :)
