Our flight home got cancelled wife couldn't wait 9hrs for the next flight so paid 350 euros to fly with Aerlingus. British Airways were also flying, I have rang easyjet customer service and been told they will not compensate because it was due to weather. Yet all the other air liners were flying. Please help :-(

Often the cause is that they are flying, but due to delays and other cancellations planes are in the wrong locations. Don't think there is a lot you can do unless it is something that you can cover with your travel insurance?

Just rang them they won't cover missing the flight because it was my fault for misreading the email, fair does. But they won't even cover the cancelled flight because they offered us on to another flight in 9 hrs time (40 spaces). It has to be 24hrs though. Easyjet are sending a letter saying the flight was cancelled and hopefully that will be enough for the insurance company.

She was ill and 'wouldn't' wait. It's a joke, I told her, look at that money we could buy something real nice with that. I warned her what insurance companies are like.

Because its your honeymoon you should pay 4x the price just to arrive in a BA plane :?

One day you will look back on all this and smile. Honestly.

I know exactly how your new wife feels. And tbh, with the weather how it is, even the promised flight in 9 hours might not happen so I'd be inclined to get on the first available flight and worry about the money later. Do you really want to risk spending Christmas in the airport because the weather closed in rapidly? Of course, once you're on the expensive newly booked flight out of there the sun will come out and all will be well, but that's just the way it goes...

Exactly it's not like they have 1st class on their 737's to Europe anyway and they've got rid of the meals so what exactly am I paying for? Well the woman at the British airways desk was 4x as nice when we booked the aerlingus flight through her. I imagine we will be going BA in future though, at least until we have kids.

Ooooh, kids still on the horizon, even after the hell of this honeymoon?! Give it a few years and the bus just being late will be the origins of a row...

Thanks snowflake, need to rep some people from my part 1....

Looking at the snow coming down now it was the right decision, M25 down to one lane flights at Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton being cancelled...good call me thinks :) I am thanking her now

so they cancelled our flight that we were supposed to be on should be getting a refund now right

if we hadn't spend the £350 we would still be in Vienna at the airport tearing our hair out
