Nintendo DS Lite Receipt?

Hey there,

I have a Nintendo DS lite black (starter pack) with Brain Training. I was just wondering whether or not it's allowed to ask for someone else's receipt for warranty purposes?

It's a UK console, since it was bought from GAME. But the family member that gave it to me isn't good at keeping receipts, she's lost it! (as in probably thrown it out along with the bag)

Obviously I'm not expecting anyone to send me their receipt and I would go against that, but just a photocopy perhaps?

Just putting this out there, if this isn't allowed Mods please let me know and I'm sorry!

if it was paid on card the bank statement acts as proof of purhase for warrenty.

Apart from this being fraud and assuming you dont get caught then you have to think about the other persons reciept you would use.

Most shops take down receipt details and they get entered into a computer at head office, then when the reciept is used again it flags up and will be investigated by loss prevention team. And because you have put your details on the return/exchange slip they find you out........then can charge you for the item/repairs etc. Or they might catch the real owner of the receipt if you use it first!

I know, because i helped investigate this stuff for a while in my last job, not for Game but another high street store.

Best just go for the bank statement/credit card bill option!
