I have just under £40 in my paypal account and want to spend it on a bit of retro gaming!

Have never played a gamecube but used to have a dreamcast.

Im unsure which one to go for...im edging towards the gamecube.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks

And obviously the gamecube is better in that case! You can pick up cheap games in cex, game, on here, ebay etc :)

Please do not trade via pm. open a thread in the FS forum and conduct your business there.

No trade or business has or will be done via PM. He mearly PM me asking what would the bundle consist of and if any deal was to take place it would do so in the correct fashion.

Please do not jump to conclusions

Thanks :)

I have a Mega Drive for sale with 40 games 3 pads etc but you would need to double that £40 mate :)
#9

Sega Dreamcast

the consoles at game are around £20 with no games, on ebay they range from £25 with 4 games to £27 with 9 games!!

Most of theose games are rubbish, i want mario games and sonic (im sure i saw sonic on the gamecube)
#12
in fact looking at it, i think i may buy the console from game and then purchase the games as i need them

If I were you, I'd go for a Gamecube.

The graphics are great, even now. You can't beat a bit of Mario Kart or Sonic! Super Monkey Ball is fantastic multiplayer fun too (can't get that on Dreamcast!)
#18
I wouldn't much class a gamecube as retro gaming so would go for the dreamcast
#19
Bought a gamecube last year for £25 from Game new and has found loads of fab games under £5 - if you don't want all the mod games I think the cube is great. We've all had loads of fun!

i got an n64 if ur intrested??
#23
go for the dreamcast - it's got a far better arcade range of games (which i'm guessing is what the retro types are into). As someone else mentioned the Dreamcast has no copy protection and will play burnt games with no hassles so you can get those jap exclusive shooters

Gamecube!!! I love both of mine. Paid £130 for my silver and £6 for my black which I bought from here. The black one is chipped although I never got round to buying any mini DVD's to make use of it. But all the original games I have are awesome.

There are barely any decent 8cm dvd blanks

I've got a Dreamcast with all cables, a fair few games, 2 controllers and a VMU that I'm looking to get rid of if your interested. Whereabouts are you?

hope it goes well for you

how does it compare to the PSP for emulation?
#30
I have purchased one from ebay with 4 games for £29.99 including a controller.

There was one with 9 games but what put me off was the fact that it would be sent normal delivery and therefore was not trackable. It should be here tomorrow.

could someone tell me if i need extra memory or is there built in memory which would be sufficient to last me for the time being?

Thanks

i don't think the GC comes with any built in memory, pop down to a car boot and see if you can pick up a memory card for a few quid, make sure you get an official one, the 3rd party ones are very hit and miss (both 3rd party ones i've used have failed on me at some point, wiping the saves)

i have got the gamecube now and it does not come with built in memory so that i have to purchase a memory card.
