Got a wii coming soon and wondering if there are any equivalent devices like the R4 etc for the DS? Never used a wii, so don't even know what form the games come in (although I have got a few ordered, arriving soon). Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Yes there is, there is the wii freeloader, or you can buy a chip. Dealextreme sells chips for it. If you have the new version of wiis then it is quite hard to assemble the chip.

It lets you play games from other regions so like super smash bros brawl from japan or something
hope that helped

Yes, that does help, esp. as my OH is in Japan for the next two weeks. I can now give here a shopping list for 2nd hand wii games there! Will probably get wii fit as it's £45 new from what I have seen, a decent saving on the prices here.

So wii games are on DVD format then? Not possible to make backup copies of the discs?

Thanks - can't connect now as its server is busy, but will check later. You don't happen to have a copy of freeloader you want to sell? Or do you think it's worth putting an ad up for?

Anytime now, there will be self-boot backups available for the wii [no chip required]

Have you used the forum search for freeloader? I seem to remember them being about £10.
