i'm not going to discuss how to do it or where to get the files from as i know that and i don't want to break any rules, question is, can any console be softmodded to put the homebrew channel on it, ie if i bought a new one with the latest firmware?

I believe if you have version 4.3 you might have problem, but the guys that do these things tend to find a 'work round' after a while.

more than likely, you do realise most wii's sold since the start of the year are unable to play backed up media via discs, instead you have to play them by a usb device...

I don't know why microsoft haven't tried the drives nintendo are using, but a dual layer variety...

Yes.
I have bought a Wii that had a firmware that was at least 2 revisions old.

If you get a black Wii(Sports Resort) it will have the firmware that will need a hard drive to play back up games. A white sports resort will most likely be the same.

I doubt that any Wii's in the shops/online retailers will have 4.3 on it. From your research, you'll know that these can still be done, but require Indiana Jones to mod.

ok thanks for that, i'm probably going to get a black one, as everything else i have is balck, saying that i've just noticed wh smith have white ones for £119..mmmm, what to get..
