Hi, just a heads up for those that bought No Man's Sky from Amazon.
If like me you feel let down by the countless things that were advertised promoting the game before release and find the game not live up to the hype, you can get a refund.

Not sure if choosing Amazon credit rather than cash on refund request made a difference. I selected item not as described, in the comment box wrote that the way the game was advertised was not how the game is and that other companies like Steam were giving refunds.

If you do a Google search it will bring up that Amazon US has been giving refunds as well.

Hope it helps someone.

Game developers need to realise the implications of the Consumers Rights Act 2015. They cannot release unfinished or misdescribed software anymore and expect consumers to wait for a patch.

I'm surprised nobody has claimed for Homefront as I've heard it's a complete disaster. I successfully claimed for WRC 5 when it was released.

Every person will have a different idea or version of misdescribed. Instead of preorder haste..why not wait for a spread of reviews and then buy? Everything you do is not always someone else's fault

This is why I stay away from unknown 'indie' developers, I give them games a few months to settle in no matter what the hype, before purchasing. The gaming industry is so frugal now, anyone can make a game and sell it before it's even been made. It's quite upsetting.

Might be worth a try, Google and print the companies refunding and they may have to do the same. As long as you explain the reason why they have to refund because stuff they advertised pre launch is not in the game, your not getting what you paid for.
Good luck

That doesn't even make sense.

Archivist: On behalf of my Ministry and the future of Unanimity, I want to thank you for the final interview. Remember, this isn't an interrogation or trial. Your version of the truth is all that matters.
Sonmi-451: Truth is singular. Its "versions" are mistruths.

Or in this case, the lies - while it's not unusual for games to get overhyped and ultimately fail to deliver on launch, the No Man's Sky developers blatantly lied about features when directly asked. That's also aside from the myriad of technical issues on the PS4 and the more serious problems on the PC, I hope the mass refunds signal that it's not acceptable to release broken games with most of the promised features entirely absent.
