I don't get it? How is this a deal?

So they're just calling it something different then...

Won't be long now until these are all gone from your local high street.

So the late fee is £1 per night.

LOL I thought exactly the same thing the two posters above did...."no more late fees" just £1.

and WOW £1 to keep a stupid dvd per night? thats ridiculous.

Makes you think lovefilm is a far better option.

They still have a future.

I tried the postal option like Lovefilm and mainly got DVDs I did not want to watch and yet you have to have a rolling list of 10 DVDs.

Don't put films on the list you don't want to watch then? Surely everyone has more than 10 films they haven't seen they would like to?

You get pestered to have 10 films and its difficult to have a list of 10 new releases you like. Yes there are old films, straight to DVD, tv series. But the latest films that were released in the cinema a few months ago, you realise its slim pickens rather quick.

seems fair to me - £4 for two nights, other rental places would charge the £4 straight away

with my track record of returning films on time this could save me a bit of money

ps. the t-mobile deal is great too

£5 for any two movies/blurays/games for two nights, plus a 2L bottle of cola, a decent size bag of sweets and a bag of popcorn

works for me and the family

With LoveFilm, I'm not able to think "Oh I want to watch
, I'll go get it and watch it." At least with Blockbuster they usually have it there and then so you can watch it when you want, instead of waiting up to a few weeks for it to come through the post. Also, you don't to pay a monthly subscription so if you don't rent too often, it can be more convenient. To be fair though, it does seem as though reducing the late fees to £1 per night would have made more sense than just re-naming it

I had a DVD overdue for four nights, so £4 owed, and they said that could be set aside the cost of hiring another DVD. So paid the £4 for another hire and wasn't charged the overdue fee. That's four extra nights for free if renting another DVD when you return it.

I remember when I was with Lovefilm yes they send you annoying emails telling you to top-up your list of titles but a little trick I found out was to find a title that you wanted to rent and only add that to your list and mark it as high priority, they would usually dispatch it a day or so after. You don’t need 10 minimum titles in your list, it doesn’t stop the service or anything, it’s just their way of making sure you have at least 1 rental at any given time.

A few weeks? Exaggeration much? I was a Lovefilm customer for years, I used to be on the unlimited package and averaged 3-4 titles per week and that includes the time to post it out to them and for them to post back to me. Once they dispatched a title I found 99% of the time it arrived the next morning. Watch it the same night, post it back in the morning and 99% of the time they would receive it the next morning and dispatch the next title on my list that afternoon. Even the cheapest monthly sub at Lovefilm equated to better value than renting 1 title for the entire month from Blockbuster. Blockbuster = hmv equivalent of the rental world.
