How can Obama win the Nobel Peace Prize?
He was only president for a tiny amount of time and during that time he's continued to bomb the crap out of everyone in the Middle East, and try to pull out of it by piling in another 30,000 blood thirsty troops.

What irony in the Nobel "PEACE" prize going to such a terrorist of this broken world.

He's bombed everyone in the Middle East has he? Is the Middle East really as small as the area that fighting is actually taking place in, or is it just your knowledge of it that is that small?

Also, Obama himself noted the irony of him winning the war. Sometimes it's enough to take a few small steps for one to earn recognition.

My knowledge of this subject is far more than yours i'm sure.
The Middle East is not even a continent so therefore is not proper context. However not being confined to one country then i would not consider it a "small area"
The main point is, the prize shouldn't be given to this idiot.
#4
also ironic that the awards are named after a man who supplied munitions to the russians during the crimean war and is most famous for his "explosive" inventions-his "inventions" have killed millions and there is a PEACE prize named after him?

Why not? He didn't take America to war, so you can hardly lay that at his feet.

His job is to make as quick an exit as is safely possible whilst continuing to fight terrorism.

Although I'm not sure his achievements warrant the award, I think the committee gave it to him because of the things he has begun doing, especially in contrast to the Bush administration.

You stated that he has "bomb the crap out of everyone in the Middle East" At the moment the Us are currently in two wars in the middle east. So he has not bombed the crap out of everyone. Secondly he was one of a few people in the main two parties in the US to speak out against the war in Iraq and does not support it. But If we and the US pull out of Iraq at the moment it will become even more of a war zone and full out civil war so ending this war is not a possibility at the moment IMO.

You are right that he wasn't the person who started this war.
But he is continuing it and even adding more troops. He obviously has no intention to pull out soon.
The USA cannot win this massacre...i mean war anyway. They didn't learn their lessons from Vietnam.

The bombs are not confined to just the two countries, The US have also killed many hundreds in Pakistan with "accidental civilian attacks"
Bombing the crap out of the Middle East i think sounds perfectly right for what they have done, i wouldn't say sprinkling the middle east, or peppering it.

Pulling out of the zone will not create more of a warzone, during Saddam Husseins rule, there was not this chaos, the US brought this chaos and with their removal then there will be less, and Iraq and Afghanistan will be a better country for it's people.

Because unfortunately it's impossible to just pull out - he didn't make the mess but he has to clean it up and that will take many, many years.

Firstly, they've bombed areas of north-west Pakistan that i'm sure someone as well-read on the subject will understand is not entirely unjustifiable.

Secondly, pulling out wouldn't create any more of a warzone - it would create a vacuum. It can't be allowed to go back to the way it was.

They are only believing what the press have told you. Sure they would say that they were trying to find terrorists in Pakistan, but how do you know they wasn't just trigger happy? i mean why were the people killed in Pakistan civilians and not terrorists?

And what was the difference between no USA before and no USA after? what makes you so sure that it will be a "vacuum"?
The chaos happening is because of the Americans being there. to stop the fire, why keep the fuel in it?

'The press' - that's a broad range of conflicting political biases to believe as a homogenous whole.

Bit weird he won it but I reckon given time he'll be a good president.

Fairly impossible to answer - you basically asked how I know I'm not being lied to. The best I can do is read around the subject and make my own mind up.

I'm sure there was collateral damage in the attacks in the Afghanistan/Pakistan borders, but it's inevitable with an enemy who hide amongst civilians. The alternative is to sacrifice more coalition soldiers - there's no easy solution there.

Its amazing how fast people can forget what the Taliban did to Afghanistan and what sadam did to Iraq,Just because they called themselves Muslims doesnt make torture and murder Ok,

Well...yes
You don't see the US army occupying Vietnam still, and yet that country isn't like Iraq.

Yes the best way is to make your own mind up, by studying evidence and sources yourself rather than what media companies gather, as they are very, very biased, in order to gain more sales and propaganda.

But if you don't go into it you just look, at best, vague.

We have our own social problems and we've made massive mistakes, but let's not excuse what was going on in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Well there have been equally worse crimes from other countries such as the Kymer Rouge genocide, the Holocaust.
The US is almost equal due to what they did to their own people on 9/11, massacres in Vietnam such as in My Lai, killing so many civillians in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan (And even admitting to go to war on a lie), and being the only country to use a WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction), and on innocent people, (Ironically the US's aims are to stop countries with WMD's)

For the US to go to war based on lies and corruption. I think any support of the Iraq/Afghanistan is very dumb.

Every fact that i produced is proven, apart from 9/11 as of course it won't be admitted.
How am i deflecting if i produce fact's that are proven?
The main topic that is being discussed is the Nobel Peace Prize for Obama, and it was a war based on a lie and shouldn't be awarded, so it's not deflecting, it's just complying with the subject i first brought to matter.

But Obama didn't start the war. You can hardly hold that against him.

You have to look at what he's doing to Gitmo and his attitude to international diplomacy for justification for the award.

As for the facts you've produced, they're hugely subjective - yet when I ask for the alternative, you can't tell me.
#38
Unfortunately Obama cannot pull the troops, it would be pointless and all the people who have already lost their lives there would of do so in vain. Let's not condemn him for the acts of the previous president (for going to war in the first place).

Giving him the peace prize is more of a, 'the world is watching and we expect great things from you', rather than a 'well done you have given us peace'. I believe they have done this in the past with previous winners.
