Item number 320322693464 (Nokia N96) a scam? Or just a bargain. 87 feedback built up by selling cheap items quickly. Looks like unlimited supply and looks like 12 people have fallen for it.

very dodgy. delivery date 23rd december. yeah right just about enogh time to withdraw all money from paypal and disapear.
#2
I'm gonna report it I think.

edit: Reported as fraudulent. See what happens. I think promising such late delivery is a breach of ebay rules anyway.
#3
Total Scam...why use Recorded delivery for an item of such high value.......

I'd stay well clear of that one....:w00t:

BS Detector going off big time for that listing....

Recorded delivery isnt guaranteed so seller will prob state to people that delivery rules must wait 3-4 weeks before declaring lost as it is a busy postal period, in which case they can only claim somethin like £36 in postage value. Also, after 3-4 weeks from 23rd Dec would take people well over the 45 day paypal claim/dispute period so buyers wouldnt be able to claim at all.....

this listing reeks big time....
#4
WOW! He has a fair few grand worth of stuff but none of the cheap gear he had before! best to leave alone:thumbsup:
#5
hmm if you look at some of the other sales he made they say delivery date 9th december but received today

all seems a bit fishy
#6
Very dodgey avoid at all costs! How do I report this?

I've done it already. Let's see what happens. I don't think they can take it down for anything other than the delivery issue.

Of course this could be legit as well.

Nice... website created on 18th Nov still pending registration

Company listed at adress given is

SEAFOOD DELI LTD
Registered No. 05448571

Also reported, but knowing ebay they probably wont do nothing about it!
#16
Should get money back on paypal though? 45 day limit leaves plenty of time from the 23rd onwards. I think thats why a lot of people have taken the risk.

Also, for things like phones, don't paypal hold the money for 21 days?

45 days start from point of purchase I'm sure.

You might have a point there about the 21 days holding period, however as the listing stated post would be via Recorded delivery, all PayPal will require (from previous experience) is the recorded delivery reference number as proof of postage.

If the seller can provide proof of postage then it may well go to a lost post claim, which has nothing to do with paypal if seller has provided proof of postage. unless something has changed?
#18
If the item is lost, then the buyer is refunded in full. It is entirely the seller's fault for not insuring it enough.

When sellers claim that unless you pay for insuarnce, they will not cover a lots claim beyond the limit, it is completely wrong. They are fully liable. Paypal are so strict, thet even recorded delivery signature may not be accepted to resolve a claim. Thats why whenever I use ebay for an item over £100 I always use special delivery.

Besides this is a business seller, who has even more rules.
#19
hmm this seller has finished all listings now....

just waiting for the this user is no longer registered dooby to come up
#20
Using the scammed money, the seller has now bought a £3600 watch.

Item number: 260331583967

Ive posted another complaint and worded it very aggressively. Outrageous that ebay ignored thef irst warning. He is scamming people out of thousands of pounds.

I reckon he's used a stolen bank account to make the paypal account used to recieve payments and hence he has to buy expensive items rather than withdrawing the cash.

mobile.distribution
Items Sold: 10.31%
Total Value Sold: £4072.18
Total Value Shipping: £190.32
Total Value Not Sold: £177156.25

mobile.distribution

not sure how accurate that is but gives you a general idea that he aint buying no new phones for these people that have paid!!

he has built up over 50-100 feedbacks on low priced items like sim cards etc (probably free)so his money is released to him instead of being on hold

I suspect whoever owns that ebay id is also using a Hotmail account.

Please anyone who is reading this and think hey what do you mean I used a hotmail account to set up my ebay account . Quickly stop that and change the email details to something else more secure otherwise you are also running a risk of having your ebay account hijacked and illegal, fraudulent items being listed for sale against your name.

sorry to hear that mate but as you can see weve been trying to get him shut down, finally happened!

doubt you will ever see him again tbh

i imagine hes checking the time with his new 3700 quid watch to see if its time to play golf with his 2000 quid hand crafted golf clubs!

best thing to do is try n contact the sellers who sold to him and see what details they got coz they had to be delivered somewhere.

item numbers are in the thread:thumbsup:
#33
thanks bro.. if anyone has any details on this **** let me know!

Had this guy ring me earlier. Said my bank (they couldn't name it)had over charged me on an over draft and i would be receiving the monies of 8% interest and they just needed to send me the forms through the post, which they needed. On the forms i would need to fill in my bank account details and sign so they could transfer the money. I past the conversation details onto the IOC, and told them to donate the money to charity.

i guess no one has this guys adress or anything info on him.. **** shouldnt get away with something like this!

Yep. I think paypal will lose a lot of money from this. There are a lot of people who don't know about making a paypal claim which will lose out though. If you fo through the ebay forums you get a lot of people like this.
#39
yeh exactly, just got my money back as we speak....
#40
the email from paypal also said this, dont understand it though..
You had already reversed the transaction amount through your bank. Becauseof this we will debit the full transaction amount from your PayPal balance :?
