For the people who have used it, is it good?

Hehe.

I've yet to find a positive review of it.

Latest I read commented on UI problems, poor build quality (for a very expensive device) and a poor keyboard. No on screen touch keyboard, and buttons changing usage (for example, pressing the green call button brings up the dialpad whereever you press it, unless you are on the home screen, in which case it randomly brings up a call log instead.

Basically most review state the symbian OS isn't good enough for such a device, and its lacking the build quality you expect from nokia.

Finally, you might wanna be chilidish about it, but I have used many devices - and a lot of nokias. Until I unlocked my 3gs, I used a N95 8GB and still think its a good phone. So keep the silly images you've searched high and low on google for to yourself. My opinion is in agreement with many many reviews.

Now go play elsewhere :)

Most user reviews of the N97 state how they love it. It gets 4.5/5 in most places. At the end of the day, it's the user experience that counts, right?
I like my N97, it's a fun phone to use. If you get a 'mirrored' screenprotector you can use it to comb your hair in too lol
Lets face it, the only two things the Fins are good at are F1 and mobile phones :whistling:

You must be reading different reviews to me, but honestly - I have no problem with Nokias, or the N97.

N97 vs iPhone is a daft battle that neither can win - I was just answering roadrunners silly question :)

No, they are not glowing reviews but certainly no worse than most. Every smartphone has it's negs.
But it illustrates how the user reviews i've seen seem to beat the pro reviews.

how you finding the keyboard?

From a demo I quite liked the feel and also the overall build quality.

I've no problem with it really. It could be a little more responsive but it works. I use my iGo keyboard with it anyway, so it isn't really a factor with indoor use. I don't demand 100% in my mobiles, just that they are fun to use and have the wow factor. The N97 fits the bill.
The overall build quality is great, although the screen lock slider is a bit wobbly

I like the keyboard on mine. I don't think I'd want an on-screen keyboard on a phone - surely you'd barely have any display left?! As for build quality, it feels pretty solid to me. I love the way that the keyboard slides out and the way the screen gets angled - good for watching videos etc..

Yes, there are problems / issues with the phone, but then show me a phone that works perfectly and provides a range of features to match or better the phone. Most things in life have problems, especially when new. It just seems to be par for the course in these competitive times where they want / need to get products to market quickly - look at Microsoft!

I'd give the phone as it is at present about 7.5/10 and this will hopefully go higher as firmware upgrades are released.
