non-epson printer cartidges not working?

hi all,

need some advice and assume plenty on here have bought non-authentic printer cartridges so may be able to help!

bought some from a well know auction site, for my epson r285, when i've fitted them the ink light just comes on and wont go off, when i try to print it shows that there's ink inside and they are full, but says it reccommends genuine epson ink cartridges and wont print.

can anyone help, do these cartridges actually work, as others on e bay seem to have got them to work fine.

thanks in advance!

have you tried turning printer off and on? i never use the real cheap inks anymore, i had nothing but trouble with them

Did you replace all the cartridges at the same time? Some Epson printers don't like a mix of genuine and compatible (mine doesn't - Epson SX215) in at the same time.

yeah turned it on and off, also replaced them all at the same time.

it's just saying they are not compatible. :-(

I have had similar problems with non HP cartridges. Guess not all the cheaper ones are as good as they say.

Ok am going to do a bit more shopping around, getting the 'legit' one's costs more than a new printer!
