So I put up a computer mouse on Ebay yesterday as Buy It Now (£45) and within an hour or so somebody bought it. Most winners pay almost instantly, but it's been a day now but there's been no payment, and he/she has ignored my messages. I'm tempted to neg him and relist if there's been no sign of it by around 7/8pm...is that a fair thing to do? He has 100% feedback (50), but his last one was May last year...?
If he'd bought it by mistake and messaged me explaining, but the fact he's ignoring me and time wasting just winds me up!

Can't neg buyers. Either leave it a week and put a none paid item dispute in to get your fees back, relist it and live with it or wait until they contact you.

A day isn't that long in all fairness, not everyone sits at one all day :whistling:

a day, jeeze, did you put in ya listing you wanted payment with 24 hours otherwise you would get ya knickers in a knot, next time tick the immediate payment required box

Buyer has 4 days to pay - give them a chance FFS

Yeah but as soon as you win it tells you to pay? why would somebody then close the window down and think "oh i'll deal with that later..."

If I just relist it, will I have to pay more fee's then?

cos they have a life away from their pc! :whistling:

They may have to transfer funds into their paypal account, or wait until they get paid.

Agree with OP on this. The buyer has used BUY IT NOW, which means they should in theory pay straight away as in the phrase 'BUY IT NOW'. You would not go through PLAY.COM checkout, get to the payment screen and then think, hang on a minute, I will actually pay for this item another day!!!

Then if he wants payment as soon as buy it now is clicked he should request immediate payment, as other traders do, that way the item remains for sale until payment is made

The fact that their last purchase was in May tells you the are an infrequent user, give them a chance.

But eBay is not Play.com - seller understands in the T&C of listing an item that the buyer has 4 days to pay.

Why didn't the OP use the Immediate Payment Required if they want payment right away!?!?

Does not cost anymore..

i always use the pay immediately option when using a buy it now as the listing wont end until they have paid.
i do get annoyed at people on ebay from time to time though especially when they go out of there way to outbid someone right at the end of a auction and then wait days to pay.
if i buy from ebay i always pay up straight away or if its going to take me a day or 2 to get the funds i always message the seller to let them know which in my eyes is not a hard thing to do its just out of decency.
unfortuantly though some people dont give a stuff.

I really wouldn't get frustrated if they sent a message stating delayed payment - like somebody did on my last auction. But it's just frustrating they are ignoring me as well.
The reason I put it up as Buy It Now is because I wanted a quick sale. So for them to not pay and ignore my messages just makes me seem like they are time wasters...

I've sent two invoices and two messages in the last 24 hours...

well I think if you did that to me, I would just ignore you too, give them a chance, 24 hours is not long, and as I and others suggested you should have added the immediate payment required option to your listing:thumbsup:

Depending on the buyer i wouldn't be surpriseded if you got a neg for continually pushing for the payment. Did you put in your listing immediaite payment required and tick the magic box. Some people buy from Ebay because they have the luxury of securing a product and then paying for it when they have the funds. It is annoying and i have 2 items in dispute myself where buyers haven't paid not a lot you can do.

This option annoys me though as a buyer so I never use it as a seller. Whenever I buy something, I always check to see if they have anything else I like so I can combine p&p but you can't do this with immediate payment so I get really cheesed off!!

What if the buyer doesnt get paid till Friday and cant pay yet but wants the item. They might have clicked the buy it now so nobody else buys it then pays when they have the money?
#19
I am a little confused by this. So you click BUY IT NOW but with the intention of paying at a later date without letting the seller know this?!?! PLEASE PLEASE do not buy off me on ebay cos I would get REALLY peed off if you did that!

That's probably why they are ignoring you, one is enough really, they are probably making you wait now.

100% agree with that. I sold something 11 days ago & have yet to be paid even though i sent it out same day ( i always do that to save messing about if good feedback ) . I rang up tuesday to be told by the guys mum he was stuck abroad waiting for a flight so i just said fair enough i will email him again & tell him to pay whenever.
