Hey there. I recently put my Nokia N97 on ebay and it was purchased by somebody asking for me to post it to nigeria to a tobacco factory.... at that point i know that this guy was wasting my time. Iv looked over ebay's contact us section and it says wait four days then something can done.

This is ok but what i have noticed recently that virtually every mobile on ebay has a high bidder with a name like 1**7 or a**t or some other variation. I think its going to pointless to put any phones on there now as my time will be wasted and ill end up going through this process countless times.

What do you think?
Contact ebay after four days and get issue resolved and forget ebay altogether?
If so any other ideas to sell mobile phones would be great

Thanks in advance
Jamlow

Just ban them from bidding on your phone.

Make sure you put on your listing will only post to the uk, if someone bids on it and wins you can cancel it instantly

the names are always starred out to protect the identity of the bidder. If you list with certain criteria, you will eventually manage to sell it. It's a real pain though, but where you get best money.

You can sell here or AVForums, but it might end up for less than you wanted

Soooo many scams on Ebay for phones etc

I'd never bother selling one on there, far too much hassle with Nigerian scammers.

The a***1 etc, is the 1st and last characters of the username, with *** being blanked out

Thanks for the advice. If i cancel this now though will ebay still want the listing and all other fees from me even though i havnt received the funds? There is a large number of these bogus accounts so im not sure blocking them would be feasible

You can set requirements to exclude if buyers "Are registered in countries to which I don't post" while listing.
