I am currently with Sheilas Wheels and they have sent me a renewal quote of £363. however when i have done a compare search they are coming up as £290 for a new customer - plus i could get £28 cashback via quidco!
So can i say i am not renewing with them but then sign up a couple of days later online?

Yep.

I do it all the time with companies that give better deals to new customers than trying to keep their existing ones.

You should try asking them as most insurance companies now price match the offers that you've had from elsewhere

I would have done this but i can get Quidco on top which i dont think they will factor in to my quote!!

no problem in using the quote given to new customers. Also, don't forget you can sort it on line through a cashback site for even more discounts.......

Oops, didn't read your post properly. You obviously have used Quidco!!!!!!

My insurance companies asked for more then what I paid last time I will be doing as follows.

Doesn't hurt to give them a phone and ask, they can only say no, and if they do just do what you're planniong anyway.....

Would you guys pick the cheapest deal or pick the cheapest deal with a decent amount of cashback?
#8
i have combined the two the give me the cheapest!! Another company quoted me a slightly cheaper deal but the excess was £100 more and the cashback less, so i am paying £10 more with Sheilas and getting a better excess and more cashback!

Make sure that you tell them to cancel your existing policy on it's final day, or they may try to automatically renew it, a lot of companies are doing this now.

My insurance company always try to charge me more to renew.

I look round the internet, get the best price I can (including deals such as money-back offers, quidco etc) then phone my company & tell them that I would like to stay on with them but am finding it hard to justify doing so when another company is offering a comparable policy for only £xxx. The company always price-matches, even with 'new customer' deals.

So don't discount you present insurers, just phone them & give them a chance to match the 'best offer' that you found.

I always offer my company the chance to match the price offered elsewhere including cashback sites, I got my AA membership reduced that way too, it meant that I wasnt waiting for cashback, especially as last year insurance cashback took eleven months!

i might give them a call ten and see what they say - is £100 less than what the have sent in my renewal document though so not sure how leanient they will be!
