Hope you get well soon.

I have had those symptoms in the past. It is a bit frightening. The blood is probably coming from your throat rather than your chest, but it will soon clear up. Honey based drinks will help.

Yes, agree with Pred - the blood should be from your mouth or throat which is raw from too much coughing. If you seriously think it is coming from somewhere else, I'd book an appt with a doctor. (EDIT: Oh, I see you have.)

On a less serious note, Pred, what are "based drinks"? and why do you call the OP 'Honey'? :?

Morning Mike, sincerely hope you feel a lot better soon and as Predikuesi writes the blood is more than likely from a very raw throat. I get it when I get a chest infection also and yes it is very frightening.

You are doing the right thing by getting it checked out though and I'm sure the doc will put your mind at rest.

Warm water, boiled and left to cool off may help a little.

Again , hope you get well soon and wrap up warm and look after yourself. :)

aww mike, i totally sympathise with you. My entire household has had this.
Daughter still has the cough thing after 8 weeks or more. it wont shift..
Hope you been to the docs so they can see if its upper resp or chest infection.
Daughter needed antibiotics for hers, you may need them.

If your coughing alot you prob strained your throat etc, hense why bit of blood. though keep a little eye on it.
Only thing which made me better was paracetmol, honey n lemon drink and AIRWAVES!!! yep!! seriously, they opened my chest right up! oh and sleep. Try and rest.. i know its boring but gotta be done.

I know that high dose Vitamin C doesn't help in preventing colds and coughs but there is evidence that it helps towards a faster recovery. Worth trying.
Keep warm and safe everyone.

If you start to feel breathless at any time seek extra advice immediately. I speak from experience as things can get out of hand quickly.
Most likely all thats required is some good rest and nutrition but take care.
